- The Camp des Milles [kɑ̃ de mil] was a French internment camp, opened in September 1939, in a former tile factory near the village of Les Milles, part of the commune of Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). In October 2015, the site was chosen by UNESCO as the headquarters for its new Chair of Education for Citizenship, Human Sciences and Shared Memories. (en)

En principio, sirvió como campo de internamiento para los residentes alemanes en Francia, con lo cual compartieron encierro auténticos nazis y exiliados alemanes, muchos de ellos judíos. Entre los internos, hasta 1940 se encontraban conocidos artistas, como Max Ernst, Lion Feuchtwanger, Hans Bellmer, , y . Después, el gobierno de Vichy utilizó el campo para internar a los judíos antes de entregarlos a las autoridades nazis. En agosto de 1942 se produjeron deportaciones de niños desde este campo. (es)
- Le camp des Milles était un camp d'internement et de déportation français, ouvert en septembre 1939, dans une usine désaffectée, une tuilerie, au hameau des Milles sur le territoire de la commune d'Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). Entre 1939 et 1942, il a connu l'internement d’étrangers et de résistants de 39 nationalités pour devenir finalement une antichambre d’Auschwitz avec la déportation de milliers d’hommes, de femmes et d’enfants juifs en août et septembre 1942 dans le cadre de la Shoah. Il est le seul grand camp français d'internement et de déportation encore intact et il devient accessible au public avec l'ouverture d'un Site-Mémorial sur les lieux mêmes à l'été 2012. (fr)
