Adattamento delle varie versioni della BT49, che calcava le piste dalla fine del 1979, era motorizzata BMW 1.5 Turbo; i piloti erano il Campione del Mondo Piloti in carica Nelson Piquet (N°1) e Riccardo Patrese (N°2).
