- Bolayır és un poble del districte de Gal·lípoli i la província de Çanakkale, situat a la península de Gal·lípoli, a la part europea de Turquia. Anteriorment era un llogaret. El 1958 fou elevat a poble. El 2007 tenia 1.871 habitants. A Bolayır hi ha la turba de Süleyman Paixà (1316–1357), fill d'Orhan, el segon bei de l'Imperi Otomà, així com la tomba del poeta nacionalista turc Namık Kemal (1840–1888). El 26 de gener 1913, Bolayır fou l'escenari de la , una important victòria búlgara contra els otomans durant la Primera Guerra Balcànica. El govern turc feu evacuar el llogaret en tres hores. Els habitants, fuetejats pels gendarmes, abandonaren totes les seves pertinences i se n'anaren a Gal·lípoli. Set vilatans grecs que arribaren dos minuts tard foren morts a trets pels soldats. Els exiliats pogueren tornar-hi després de la guerra. Tanmateix, com que el govern només permetia als turcs reconstruir les seves llars, els exiliats grecs foren obligats a romandre a Gal·lípoli. Bolayır també fou l'escenari de la campanya de Gal·lípoli (1915–1916) durant la Primera Guerra Mundial. El nom tradicional de Bolayır és Πλαγιάρι (Plagiari) en grec i Булаир (Bulair) en búlgar. O bé és la mateixa població que en temps medievals es coneixia com a Brankhiàlion, o bé una població molt propera. del , a la província búlgara de Varna, duu aquest nom en honor de la victòria búlgara a Bolayır. La fou composta per commemorar la batalla. Es troba prop de les ruïnes de l'antiga ciutat grega de Lisimàquia. (ca)

- Bolayır is a town in the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale Province, situated on the Gallipoli Peninsula in the European part of Turkey. The settlement was formerly a village. It received in 1958 the status of a town. According to the 2007 census, Bolayır's population is 1871. The türbe (tomb) of Süleyman Pasha (1316–1357), son of Orhan I, the second Bey of the Ottoman Empire and the grave of the Turkish nationalist poet Namık Kemal (1840–1888) are located in Bolayır. On 26 January 1913, Bolayır was the site of the Battle of Bulair, a major Bulgarian victory over the Ottomans during the First Balkan War. Bolayır was also the site of the Gallipoli Campaign (1915–1916) during the World War I. The traditional Greek name of Bolayır is Πλαγιάρι (Plagiari) and in Bulgarian the town is known as Булаир (Bulair). It may the same settlement known as Branchialion in medieval times or, if not, very close to it. A village in Dolni Chiflik Municipality, Varna Province bears the name in honour of the Bulgarian victory at Bolayır and a Bulgarian military march, the , was written to commemorate the battle. The ruins of the Ancient Greek city of Lysimachia lie nearby. (en)
