The diocese was established in 1912 as the Diocese of Persia and was incorporated into the Jerusalem Archbishopric in 1957. The most recent bishop was Azad Marshall, until 2016. Sie wurde 1912 als Diözese Persien (englisch Diocese of Persia) gegründet und gehört seit 1957 zur Episkopalkirche von Jerusalem und dem Nahen Osten. Ihr traditioneller Bischofssitz ist bei der in Isfahan; daneben gibt es die in Teheran und zwei weitere Kirchen.
