- Το μπεζεστένι είναι οθωμανική κλειστή αγορά στην πόλη της Λάρισας, στην Ελλάδα. Το μπεζεστένι ευρίσκεται επί της κορυφής του Λόφου Φρουρίου, την παλαιά ακρόπολη της πόλης, και ανεγέρθηκε τον ύστερο 15ο αιώνα. Η παλαιότερη γραπτή μαρτυρία περί της ύπαρξής του βρίσκεται σε μητρώο χρονολογούμενου από το 1506, όπου συγκαταλέγεται μεταξύ των ευσεβών ιδρυμάτων του Γαζί Ομέρ Μπέη. Πρόκειται για ορθογώνιο κτίριο, του οποίου η νότια, η ανατολική και η δυτική πλευρά είναι διακοσμημένες με μνημειώδη οξυκόρυφα τόξα. Οι διαστάσεις του είναι 27 × 18 μ. Η είσοδος γινόταν δια χαμηλής πύλης επί της βόρειας πλευράς, οδηγώντας σε μικρού μεγέθους δωμάτιο, το οποίο πιθανώς χρησιμοποιείτο ως θησαυροφυλάκιο. Το συγκεκριμένο δωμάτιο σκεπαζόταν από έξι επικαλυμμένους με μόλυβδο θόλους, οι οποίοι υποστηρίζονται από δύο μεγάλους πεσσούς. Δεκαεννέα μαγαζιά στεγάζονταν σε θολωτά δωμάτια περιμετρικά του κεντρικού χώρου, κυρίως πραγματευόμενα υφάσματα και τιμαλφή. Έως την καταστροφή του από πυρκαγιά το 1799, αποτελούσε το εμπορικό κέντρο της πόλης, μαζί με τη γειτονική υπαίθρια αγορά και το παζάρι. Ο περιηγητής του 17ου αιώνα Εβλιγιά Τσελεμπί αναφέρεται στο κτίριο, περιγράφοντάς το ως ένα «πραγματικό φρούριο» και παρομοιάζοντάς το με τέτοιο. Τοώντι, ο Λόφος Φρουρίου έλαβε την σημερινή του ονομασία από το μπεζεστένι. Κατά την διάρκεια του 19ου αιώνα χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως . - The bedesten (Greek: μπεζεστένι, romanized: bezesteni) is an Ottoman enclosed market (bedesten) in the city of Larissa, Greece. The bedesten is located on the top of the Frourio Hill, the city's ancient acropolis, and was erected in the late 15th century. The earliest written testimony about its existence is in a register from 1506, where it is listed among the pious foundations of Gazi Ömer Bey. It is an orthogonal building, whose southern, eastern, and western sides are decorated with monumental pointed arches. Its dimensions are 27 × 18 m. The entrance was through a low gate on the northern side, leading to a small room, probably used as a treasury. This room was topped by six lead-covered domes, supported by two massive pillars. Nineteen shops were located in vaulted rooms located around the central courtyard, mostly dealing in cloth and valuables. Until its destruction by fire in 1799 it served as the city's commercial heart, along with the adjacent open-air market and bazaar. the 17th-century traveller Evliya Celebi mentions the building, describing it as a "veritable fortress" and likening it to a citadel. Indeed, the Frourio ("Fortress") hill received its name from the bedesten. In the 19th century it was used as a gunpowder magazine. Today only the outer walls survive, and only the southern entrance is open. Prior to the opening of the Diachronic Museum of Larissa in 2015, it was used to house the local Byzantine antiquities collection. (en)

Il s'agit d'un bâtiment de forme orthogonale, dont les côtés sud, est et ouest sont décorés d'arcs brisés monumentaux. Ses dimensions sont de 27 × 18 m. L'entrée se fait par une porte basse sur le côté nord, menant vers une salle de petite taille, probablement utilisée comme trésorerie. Cette salle est surmontée de six coupoles couvertes de plomb, soutenues par deux piliers massifs. Au total, dix-neuf boutiques sont réparties dans des salles voûtées situées autour de la cour centrale, et vendent principalement des tissus ou des objets de valeur. Jusqu'à sa destruction par un incendie en 1799, elle constitue le cœur commercial de la ville, au même titre que le marché en plein air et le bazar adjacents. Le voyageur du XVIIe siècle Evliya Çelebi mentionne dans ses écrits le bâtiment, le décrivant comme une « véritable forteresse » et le comparant à une citadelle. En effet, la colline de Froúrio (« Forteresse ») doit son nom au bedesten. Au cours du XIXe siècle, il sert de magasin à poudre. Aujourd'hui, seuls les murs extérieurs subsistent, et seule l'entrée sud est ouverte. Avant l'ouverture du en 2015, il est utilisé pour abriter la collection locale d'antiquités byzantines.
