- معركة الباغوز فوقاني هو هجوم عسكري قامت به قوات سوريا الديمقراطية في 9 فبراير 2019، بمساعدة من التحالف الذي تقودة الولايات المتحدة، وهو جزء من حملة دير الزور العسكرية. وتتألف المعركة من سلسلة من الهجمات البرية داخل وحول مدينة الباغوز فوقاني السورية بالقرب من الحدود العراقية، وللمعركة أهمية كبيرة بسبب انها تدور في آخر معقل لتنظيم داعش في شرق سوريا. بعد سلسلة من الهجمات نجحت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية والتحالف الذي تقودة الولايات المتحدة بتطويق تنظيم داعش في مجموعة من القرى الصغيرة المكتظة بالسكان على طول نهر الفرات خلال الأسبوع الأول من المعركة، وأدعت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية بأن عدد كبير من المدنيين المتواجدين في القرى، هم أقارب لمقاتلي داعش ومعظمهم من الأجانب. وتحت إشراف قوات التحالف، قامت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية بشن هجمات عنيفة ثم استأنفت الهجوم للسماح للمقاتلين المسلحين بالاستسلام وكذلك من أجل إجلاء الرهائن والمدنين من القرى المتحصنة بها داعش من أجل تقليل الخسائر في صفوف المدنيين. وبسبب المقاومة الشرسة التي قام بها الجهاديين في القرى المكتظة بالمدنيين تحولت المعركة إلى حصار طويل الأمد. - Die Schlacht von Baghuz, oder Schlacht um al-Baghuz-Faqwani, war die Entscheidungsschlacht im Kampf gegen den Islamischen Staat im Irak und der Levante (ISIL). Diese hatten im Juni 2014 ein Kalifat ausgerufen, das als staatenähnliches Gebilde Territorien in Irak und Syrien beanspruchte. Nach großen Gebietsgewinnen gingen deren gegnerische Streitkräfte ab 2016 in die Offensive, unterstützt von Luftangriffen durch die Operation Inherent Resolve. Bis Januar 2019 war ISIL niedergerungen, bis auf einen kleinen Flecken im Tal des mittleren Euphrat-Flusses. - The Battle of Baghuz Fawqani was an offensive by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), assisted by Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) airstrikes, artillery, and special forces personnel, that began on 9 February 2019 as part of the Deir ez-Zor campaign of the Syrian Civil War. The battle—which was composed of a series of ground assaults—took place in and around the Syrian town of Al-Baghuz Fawqani in the Middle Euphrates River Valley near the Iraq–Syria border, and was the territorial last stand of the Islamic State (IS) in eastern Syria. After corralling Islamic State forces into a densely populated cluster of hamlets and a tent city along the riverside within the first week, the SDF realised that a greater-than-anticipated number of civilians, most of whom were relatives of the what were now mostly foreign IS fighters, were still in the enclave. With CJTF-OIR oversight, the SDF took an incremental approach to the battle, launching assaults then pausing to allow surrendering fighters, hostages, and families to evacuate in order to minimize civilian casualties. The "trickle-out" strategy, coupled with stiff resistance by veteran Islamic State jihadists within a small dense area, prolonged the battle into a protracted siege. The SDF officially declared final victory over the Islamic State in Baghuz Fawqani on 23 March, marking the end of IS-controlled territories in Syria. During the battle, on 18 March, a coalition airstrike killed many people. The incident, which was covered-up by the U.S. military, killed up to 80 people, including 64 civilians and 16 IS militants according to The New York Times, who revealed it to the public in November 2021. A US military investigation in May 2022 concluded that the airstrike killed 52 IS fighters and 4 civilians and did not violate the laws of war. (en)
- La batalla de Baguz fue una operación ofensiva liderada por las Fuerzas Democráticas Sirias (FDS) contra el Estado Islámico de Irak y el Levante (ISIS), asistidas por las Fuerzas de la Coalición, que empezó el 9 de febrero de 2019, enmarcada en la ofensiva de Deir ez-Zor. La batalla está teniendo lugar en los alrededores de la localidad siria de Al-Baghuz Fawqani, en el valle del Éufrates, cerca de la frontera con Irak. Después de embolsar a los remanentes del ISIS en torno a un conjunto de aldeas densamente pobladas junto al curso del río Éufrates tras la primera semana de enfrentamientos, las FDS reconocieron haber embolsado a un número mayor de civiles de los inicialmente previstos. - Pertempuran Baghuz Fawqani merupakan gempuran Pasukan Demokratik Suriah (SDF) terhadap Negara Islam Irak dan Syam (ISIS) di kota yang dimulai pada 9 Februari 2019 selama Perang Saudara Suriah. Pasukan Kurdi SDF dibantu oleh angkatan udara Amerika Serikat dan sekutunya. yang berlokasi di Lembah Sungai Efrat Tengah merupakan wilayah terakhir ISIS di Suriah.
