Barbara Maureen Roche, née Margolis (born 13 April 1954) was a Labour politician in the United Kingdom. She was educated at the Jews Free School, Camden Town and Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts. She trained to be a barrister and was called to the bar at the Middle Temple, 1977. She was the Labour member of Parliament for the Hornsey and Wood Green constituency from 1992 until losing the seat at the 2005 general election, despite a 1997 majority of 20,500, and a 2001 majority of over 10,500. She had previously contested the seat in 1987 general election and before that was the Labour candidate in the South West Surrey by-election in 1984.
