- Das Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) ist ein seit 1949 jährlich stattfindendes, internationales Festival der klassischen Musik in Aspen, Colorado. Neben der Gestaltung besonderer Konzertprogramme durch internationale Spitzenmusiker sind die Förderung von Nachwuchsmusikern durch Musikkurse und -workshops Fundament des Festivals. Das Aspen Music Festival and School bietet 12 Ausbildungsprogramme für junge Musiker an: von Orchester-Programmen über Opern-Coaching bis zur klassischen Gitarre. Die Hauptsaison dauert etwa 8 Wochen und findet jedes Jahr im Sommer statt. Aber auch in der Wintersaison gibt es einige Veranstaltungen. Neben dem Klassik-Programm finden auch vereinzelte Jazz-Events statt. Die Organisation des Festivals wird zurzeit geleitet vom Präsidenten und CEO Alan Fletcher und vom Musikdirektor Robert Spano. - The Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) is a classical music festival held annually in Aspen, Colorado. It is noted both for its concert programming and the musical training it offers to mostly young-adult music students. Founded in 1949, the typical eight-week summer season includes more than 400 classical music events—including concerts by five orchestras, solo and chamber music performances, fully staged opera productions, master classes, lectures, and children's programming—and brings in 70,000 audience members. In the winter, the AMFS presents a small series of recitals and Metropolitan Opera Live in HD screenings. As a training ground for young-adult classical musicians, the AMFS draws more than 650 students from 40 states and 34 countries, with an average age of 22. While in Aspen, students participate in lessons, coaching, and public performances in orchestras, operas, and chamber music, often playing side-by-side with AMFS artist-faculty. The organization is currently led by President and CEO Alan Fletcher and Music Director Robert Spano. (en)

El Festival y Escuela fueron fundados por Elizabeth y Walter Paepcke de Chicago. - L'Aspen Music Festival and School è considerato uno dei migliori festival di musica classica negli Stati Uniti, noto sia per la sua programmazione di concerti che per la formazione musicale, per lo più, di studenti di musica giovani-adulti. Fondato nel 1949, la tipica stagione estiva di otto settimane comprende più di 300 eventi di musica classica, tra cui concerti di cinque orchestre, esecuzioni di solisti e di musica da camera, produzioni operistiche complete, corsi di perfezionamento, conferenze e programmi per bambini e richiama circa 70.000 spettatori. In inverno, il AMFS presenta una piccola serie di recital e proiezioni in HD di Opere dal Vivo del Metropolitan. Strutturato come un campo di addestramento per musicisti classici giovani-adulti, l'AMFS attira più di 600 studenti provenienti da oltre 40 paesi, con un'età media di 23 anni. Mentre sono ad Aspen, gli studenti partecipano alle lezioni, coaching e agli spettacoli pubblici nelle orchestre, nei teatri lirici ed alla musica da camera, a volte suonando fianco a fianco con gli artisti/docenti dell'AMFS.
