- Anti-Chilean sentiment (Spanish: antichilenismo) refers to the historical and current resentment towards Chile, Chileans, or Chilean culture. Anti-Chilean sentiment is most prevalent among Chile's neighbors Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. One of the historic causes of anti-Chilean sentiment is the perceived Chilean expansionism that took place during the 19th century when Chile won the War of the Pacific, a war declared by Bolivia after forming a secret alliance with Peru. The sentiment also applied to Chilean immigration in Argentina and the United States. (en)
- El antichilenismo o sentimiento antichileno hace referencia a un fenómeno existente en algunas sociedades que consiste en un sentimiento de antipatía hacia el país sudamericano Chile, basado en prejuicios de tipo histórico, cultural y étnico, o fruto de conflictos bélicos, concepción que surgió durante el siglo XIX como consecuencia de su expansión territorial, o como respuesta al nacionalismo chileno. La Real Academia Española lo define como «actitud contraria a Chile, a lo chileno o a los chilenos». Se expresa como contratendencias en corrientes nacionalistas de países como Perú y Bolivia, y en menor medida por racismo contra la inmigración chilena o cuestiones políticas en Argentina y Estados Unidos. Dentro de Chile, organizaciones indígenas regionalistas, movimientos independentistas y sociales muestran tendencias de antichilenismo. Puede manifestarse de muchas formas, como odio, difamación o discriminación individuales, ataques de grupos nucleados con dicho propósito o la violencia policial o estatal. (es)
