- The African People's Convention is a South African political party formed by Themba Godi, former deputy leader of the Pan-Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) via floor-crossing legislation, on 4 September 2007. Godi defected along with the PAC's only two provincial representatives, Eastern Cape MPL Zingisa Mkabile and Gauteng MPL Malesela Ledwaba. Godi is the current leader of the APC. The party retained its seat in the National Assembly in the 2009 elections, although it lost both of its representatives in the provincial legislatures of Gauteng and Eastern Cape. It retained its seat in the 2014 election, but lost it in the 2019 election. Like the PAC, the party's ideology officially appeals to "Africanists, Pan Africanists and socialists". (en)

Bei den Parlamentswahlen in Südafrika 2009 errang die African People’s Convention 0,2 Prozent der Stimmen und konnte so ihren einzigen Sitz in der Nationalversammlung halten, verlor jedoch ihre beiden Vertreter in den Provinzversammlungen von Gauteng und Eastern Cape. Bei den Wahlen 2014 behielt sie ihren Sitz in der Nationalversammlung knapp, verlor ihn jedoch bei der Wahl 2019. Bei den Kommunalwahlen 2016 erhielt sie 0,22 Prozent der Stimmen. Die Partei bezeichnet sich offiziell ebenso wie der Pan Africanist Congress als „afrikanistisch, pan-afrikanistisch und sozialistisch“. Symbol der Partei ist ein zweigeteilter Kreis, die obere Hälfte enthält das Bild einer vor grünem Hintergrund aufgehenden Sonne, die untere Hälfte die Buchstaben APC. (de)

Fue establecido por dos legisladores nacionales del PAC y sus dos únicos legisladores provinciales, los cuales perdió en su primera contienda electoral, donde conservó, sin embargo, la representación nacional. En las elecciones de 2014, conservó su escaño con el 0.17% de los votos, siendo, por lo tanto, el partido representado en la Asamblea Nacional de Sudáfrica con menos votos.
