- Adrian (formerly known as Adrian - La serie evento and briefly as Adriano) is a 2019 Italian animated series created and written by singer Adriano Celentano. Vincenzo Cerami oversaw the screenplay, comic artist Milo Manara developed the character design and Nicola Piovani wrote the original soundtrack. Along with Celentano, students of Holden School of Alessandro Baricco took part to the series. It has been produced by Claudia Mori for and its production lasted more than 10 years: announced in 2009 and initially destined for Sky, Adrian had been delayed several times due to contrasts between Clan Celentano and the production companies chosen for the realization of the cartoon, forcing Sky to reject the contract with Clan in 2012 because of the continuous delays. The project was then taken by Mediaset in 2015. The budget was about €28 million, and the cartoon was completed for Canale 5 in January 2019. Animations were made by thousands of animators in three continents (Asia, Africa and Europe) and they included more than 10,000 scenes. 26 episodes lasting about 22 minutes had been produced but then they had been edited in 9 episodes lasting about 55–70 minutes each, to be broadcast on prime time. Each episode had to be preceded by Aspettando Adrian, a live show from Teatro Camploy in Verona, with the presence of Celentano himself along with some famous Italian comedians. The broadcast of the first 4 episodes with that format occurred between 21 January and 4 February 2019; the series was then paused, officially because a sickness of Celentano but some critics argued also that the interruption was provoked by a severe audience flop, and it has continued since 7 November 2019 with a different live show. La serie affronta il tema della lotta per la libertà e la "bellezza" in un futuro distopico, toccando argomenti come la violenza sulle donne, l'immigrazione, l'inquinamento e la disuguaglianza sociale. Adrian, prodotto da Claudia Mori per Clan Celentano, è frutto di una gestazione durata oltre 10 anni: annunciato nel 2009 e inizialmente destinato a Sky, è oggetto di continui rinvii a causa dei contrasti tra il Clan e le varie case di produzione scelte per la realizzazione del cartoon, cosa che ha spinto Sky alla rescissione del contratto col Clan nel 2012. Ripreso da Mediaset nel 2015, la sua realizzazione è più volte saltata a causa degli aumenti di budget richiesti ed è stato infine completato e preparato per un approdo su Canale 5 nel gennaio 2019. Le animazioni del cartoon sono state curate da migliaia di disegnatori sparsi in tre continenti (Asia, Africa e Europa) e hanno compreso oltre 10 000 scene. Della serie sono stati realizzati circa 26 episodi della durata di circa 22 minuti l'uno, poi rimontati in 9 puntate della durata di circa 55-70 minuti l'una, da trasmettere in nove prime serate. Ogni puntata doveva inoltre essere preceduta da Aspettando Adrian, uno show in diretta dal Teatro Camploy di Verona, con la presenza dello stesso Celentano e di vari comici dello spettacolo italiano. La messa in onda delle prime 4 puntate secondo questo formato è avvenuta tra il 21 gennaio e il 4 febbraio 2019; la serie è stata in seguito sospesa, ufficialmente a causa di un malanno sofferto da Celentano e secondo vari commentatori anche a causa del grave insuccesso di ascolti, ed è ripresa dal 7 novembre al 5 dicembre 2019 con uno show dal vivo modificato. Проте 26 лютого «Mediaset» оголосили, що припинення трансляції триватиме до осені 2019 року, знову ж таки, через «стан здоров'я» Челентано, що викликало спекуляції в ЗМІ, які вважали що перерва відбулася через провал мультсеріалу серед телеаудиторії. З 7 листопада до 5 грудня 2019 року була показана решта п'яти епізодів «Адріана» та модифікованого супровідного йому телешоу зі зміненою назвою «Адріан наживо — ця історія...», але рейтинги телепереглядів цих трансляцій були все такими ж провальними. - As all the people working in cinema and animation know, these drawings had to be used as a reference for the realization of the actual animations. I realize that some drawings of my storyboards had been included also in the final animation, despite they were not realized for this purpose, creating more confusion. Unfortunately, the decision to use them has not been mine and at the time I could not point out my strong perplexity about it. (en)

Also if in Adrian we are in 2068, also if a corrupted Power governs with deceit and homologation, also if the architecture is the classic one of each dystopian representation, the story is circular like a clock, self-referential: the clockmaker who saves the world.[...] As for the live prologue, before saving the world, appearances should be saved at least. - Much ado about nothing, it comes to say after Aspettando Adrian, perhaps then the audience enjoys the cartoon that a sense would have it too, if it was only for those signatures which appear on the headlines, from Manara to Piovani to Cerami, while portraits of a young Celentano with pectorals and lean mass and of a young Claudia Mori with enviable buttocks in the wind. - It is a science-fiction story with the usual fight between good/beautiful and bad, dirty and ugly power. Despite a well drawn explicit erotism harmonious runs on bicycles, echoes of Metropolis and Blade Runner, frankly I did not give a damn of what was happening, just to mention him citing another. (en)
