- 55 Hudson Yards (auch unter dem Namen 1 Hudson Boulevard und One Hudson Yards bekannt) ist ein Wolkenkratzer in New York City. Das Hochhaus wurde Anfang 2019 fertiggestellt und ab April 2019 bezogen. Das Projekt wurde erstmals im Frühling 2012 der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Der Turm liegt an den sogenannten Hudson Yards – ein Stadtteil ganz im Westen von Manhattan. Der Name leitet sich vom Hudson River ab, der den Westrand der Insel Manhattan markiert. Die Straßenadresse lautet 11th Avenue und West 33rd Street. 55 Hudson Yards ist Teil eines vorwiegend in den 2010er Jahren entstandenen großen Gebäudekomplexes, ähnlich dem des neuen World Trade Centers. Ursprünglich war an dieser Stelle das World Product Center geplant, dessen Bau im August 2009 begann, danach aber im Dezember 2009 wieder eingestellt wurde. Das Bauwerk sollte nach seiner Vollendung im Jahr 2013 60 Etagen haben, und eine Dachhöhe von 308 m. Entworfen wurde das Gebäude von den Architekten von Kohn Pedersen Fox. Das Hochhaus sollte überwiegend für Büros, aber auch Medienräume genutzt werden und die Fassade ausschließlich mit Glas verkleidet werden. 55 Hudson Yards ist als reiner Büroturm konzipiert und, ist 238 Meter hoch und hat 51 Geschosse. Als Besonderheit gilt die hohe Energieeffizienz des Gebäudes, das laut Entwickler eine LEED Gold Zertifizierung anstreben soll. Ebenfalls wie das World Product Center wurde der aktuelle Turm von KPF entworfen. Architektonisch zeichnet sich das Gebäude durch seine charakteristische leicht schwarz-schimmernde Fassade aus, welche an ein Glätteisen erinnert. (de)

It and 50 Hudson Yards will add a combined 4 million square feet (370,000 m2) of space to the Hudson Yards project, even though the two buildings are located outside the redevelopment site itself. Formerly, the area was the planned site of the now-canceled World Product Center. Both 55 Hudson Yards and the never-built World Product Center were planned to be located on the site of Copacabana, which was at the site between 2001 and January 20, 2007. Located right above the 34th Street subway entrance on the Hudson Park and Boulevard, 55 Hudson Yards was also formerly the site of a FedEx World Service Center building. 55 Hudson Yards was completed by early 2019, with the first tenants occupying the building by April.
