  • The 2022 season is the Detroit Lions' 93rd in the National Football League (NFL), the 21st playing their home games at Ford Field and their second under the head coach/general manager tandem of Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes. The Lions came into the season looking to improve upon their 3–13–1 from the previous season, with many believing that the Lions would have a "breakout year", and would finish with a winning record. In the 2022 NFL Draft, the Lions held two first round picks which they used to select defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams. On March 28, NFL Films and HBO announced that the Lions would be featured in the newest season of Hard Knocks, a show that follows NFL teams through training camp. After a close loss with the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, the Lions found their first win against the Washington Commanders, their earliest win since 2019. The Lions lost two close games against the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks before a dip in performance that included a 0–29 shutout against the New England Patriots. However, the defense shined in a 15–9 win over the Green Bay Packers in which the Lions' defense intercepted Aaron Rodgers twice in the endzone and three times overall. The Lions would go on to win 4 of their next 5 games, including a 31–30 comeback win against the Chicago Bears and a 40–14 rout of the Jacksonville Jaguars. (en)

(en)
