- The 2020 Championship League (also known as the 2020 Matchroom.com Championship League) was a professional non-ranking snooker tournament that took place from 1 to 11 June 2020 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, England. The event featured 64 players from the World Snooker Tour featuring three rounds of round-robin groups of four. The initial group stage matches were played between 1 and 8 June, with the group winners' stage played on 9 and 10 June, before the finals stage on 11 June. It was the 14th edition of the Championship League. The event was one of the first live sporting events in the United Kingdom since the start of the coronavirus lockdown in March 2020. Luca Brecel won the event after finishing top of the final group ahead of Ben Woollaston, Stuart Bingham and Ryan Day. The event was broadcast on ITV4 in the United Kingdom, Eurosport across Europe, , Youku and in China, Fox Sports in Australia and Sky in New Zealand. - Die Matchroom.live Championship League 2020 war ein Snooker-Einladungsturnier im Rahmen der Main-Tour-Saison 2019/20, das als reines Rundenturnier in 3 Phasen vom 1. bis 11. Juni 2020 ausgetragen wurde. Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie im Frühjahr 2020 fand das Turnier unter besonderen Umständen statt. Es war erst nachträglich in die Saison eingeführt worden und wurde mit zahlreichen Schutzmaßnahmen versehen. Dadurch änderten sich Ablauf und Modus des Turniers gegenüber den seit 2008 ausgetragenen Championship-League-Turnieren grundlegend. Unter anderem wurde das Turnier statt an verteilten Terminen an einem Stück ausgetragen, es gab mehr Teilnehmer und einschließlich Finale nur Gruppenspiele statt Gruppenphase und Ausscheidungsphase. Eine für die Anforderungen geeignete Spielstätte wurde mit der Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes gefunden. Die nordwestlich von London gelegene Großstadt war erstmals Austragungsort eines Snookerprofiturniers. Die letzte reguläre Ausgabe der Championship League endete im März 2020 mit einem Sieg des Schotten Scott Donaldson, der allerdings dieses Mal nicht antrat. Sieger wurde der Belgier Luca Brecel, der sich in der Finalgruppe ungeschlagen gegen Ben Woollaston, Stuart Bingham und Ryan Day durchsetzte. Contrairement aux autres éditions, le tournoi réunit 64 joueurs professionnels, contre 32 habituellement. La compétition est mise en place par la WPBSA, en collaboration avec Matchroom Sport, société de promotion d’événements sportifs. Fondée en pleine crise du coronavirus, la compétition fait du snooker le premier sport de haut niveau à faire son retour. Pour cette édition spéciale, c'est Eurosport qui assurera la diffusion du tournoi en Europe. (fr)
- La Championship League 2020 è il ventiquattresimo evento della stagione 2019-2020 di snooker, il settimo ed ultimo Non-Ranking, ed è la 14ª edizione di questo torneo che si è disputato dal 1° all'11 giugno 2020 a Milton Keynes, in Inghilterra. Inizialmente non compreso nel calendario del Main Tour, è stato annunciato il 15 maggio, dal presidente del World Snooker Tour , tramite un comunicato il quale rende noto il ritorno all'attività, dopo la pandemia di COVID-19. La prima scelta della location era ricaduta sulla di Leicester, sede di questo torneo a partire dalla precedente edizione, ma è stata cambiata, in seguito, con la Marshall Arena poiché essa dispone di strutture in loco facilitate. Così come in parte era accaduto nell'ultimo torneo disputato prima di questo, il Gibraltar Open a marzo, non sono stati presenti gli spettatori. Tutti i 64 giocatori, sommati agli arbitri, non hanno potuto lasciare il luogo di gioco una volta raggiunto, per tutta la durata della competizione; prima che quest'ultima cominci, ad ogni partecipante è stato effettuato un test per verificare un'eventuale positività al COVID-19. L'evento ha ricevuto una copertura televisiva da parte della ITV nel Regno Unito, Eurosport in tutta Europa, ad eccezione del Regno Unito, Sky in Nuova Zelanda, Superstars Online, Youku e Zhibo.tv in Cina, e Fox Sports in Australia. La competizione è stata sponsorizzato dalla Matchroom Sport.
