- The International Rally of Nations is an international Rally event held in México for the first time in 2009. According to the organization, "the idea of this event is to bring the emotional side of the Olympic Games or the world cup to the automobile world with the possibility of several teams per country." The idea for the event came after the Rally Mexico was not included in the 2009 World Rally Championship due to the rotation system. The event was won by Spain's Xavier Pons and Daniel Solà, with the two drivers amassing a total of 1067.5 points. (en)
- El Rally México de 2009, oficialmente Corona Rally México - Rally of Nations se celebró en las cercanías de León, (Guanajuato) del 9 al 12 de julio y contó con un itinerario de dieciocho tramos sobre tierra, que sumaron un total de 252,48 km cronometrados. La prueba se celebró sin ser parte del Campeonato Mundial debido al sistema de rotación implementado para esta temporada e integró un formato de puntuación colectivo llamado Rally de las Naciones (Rally of Nations), en el cual se otogaron puntos y premios monetarios a los países participantes, además de la puntuación regular otorgada a los pilotos individualmente. Por sus características técnicas y participación internacional, la prueba fue conocida inoficialmente como una "Carrera mundialista" (WM-Lauf, en alemán). El total de premios repartidos fue de 75 mil dólares, con 50 mil para el ganador absoluto, 5 mil para el ganador del día y 500 para el ganador de cada tramo cronometrado. La prueba individual fue ganada por el austriaco Manfred Stohl, seguido de su compatriota Andreas Aigner; el tercer lugar fue para el piloto francés Didier Auriol. En la categoría de países, el equipo español, representado por Xavi Pons y Dani Solà, ganó el primer lugar. El segundo fue ocupado por el equipo austriaco y el tercero, por el equipo francés. (es)
