I THEORY OF A DEADMAN si sono fatti un nome suonando nella zona di Vancouver, poi una sera Connelly ha incontrato ad una festa il frontman dei Nickelback Chad Kroeger e gli ha lasciato una copia del suo demo. Molti musicisti famosi buttano quei CD direttamente nella spazzatura, ma non Kroeger che, dopo aver ascoltato il disco, ne rimase talmente colpito da chiedere alla band di firmare per la sua etichetta, 604 Records. Il gruppo fece uscire l’album di debutto "Theory of a Deadman" nel 2002, e la loro musica è stata immediatamente descritta come hard rock articolato ed emotivo. Brani come “Nothing Can Come Between Us”, “Make Up Your Mind” e “The Last Song” sono stati programmati da molte radio e i due anni passati in tour sono serviti a rafforzare il sound della band e la loro alchimia. Attualmente il successo avuto dall'album Scars & Souvenirs e' notevole tanto che la band partecipera' al Motley Crue Tour 2009 a cui prendera' parte anche la band The Last Vegas il tour iniziera' appunto nel 2009. È stata annunciata anche la loro partecipazione al Crue Fest 2.
