- Η Κυρά Μαρία (βουλγαρικά: Кира Мария), ή μόνο Μαρία, ήταν αυτοκρατορική σύζυγος της Βουλγαρίας, πρώτη σύζυγος του Ιβάν Σισμάν (σ. 1371–1395). Δεν υπάρχουν σχεδόν καθόλου ιστορικές πηγές για αυτήν. Το όνομά της αναφέρεται στην νεκρολογία Μπόριλ με τον ακόλουθο τρόπο: Στην Κυρά Μαρία, την ευσεβή αυτοκράτειρα του μεγάλου αυτοκράτορα Ιβάν Σισμάν, αιώνια η μνήμη. Στην αφέντισσα Ντεσισλάβα, μητέρα της ευσεβούς αυτοκράτειρας Μαρίας του μεγάλου αυτοκράτορα Ιβάν Σισμάν, που ήρθε με την αγγελική μορφή της Ντεμπόρα, αιώνια η μνήμη. - Kira María (en búlgaro, Кира Мария), o solamente María, fue la zarina consorte de Bulgaria, primera esposa del zar Iván Shishman (reino entre 1371 y 1395). Casi no existen fuentes históricas acerca de ella. Su nombre es mencionado en el libro de Boril de la siguiente manera: ... Para Kira María, la piadosa emperatriz del gran emperador Iván Shishman, eterno recuerdo.Para la señora Desislava, la madre de la piadosa emperatriz María - del gran emperador Iván Shishman, llamada en forma de ángel Débora, eterno recuerdo ... La interpretación del extracto citado no es segura. Es posible que María y Kira María fueran dos mujeres diferentes. Se sabe que Iván Shishman tenía una segunda esposa - Dragana, la hija del príncipe Lazar de Serbia y Milica. El príncipe Lazar no tenía una esposa llamada Desislava y por lo tanto es posible que el nombre de la primera esposa del emperador era sólo María, mientras que Dragana podría haber sido llamado Kira María, a menos que hubiera un error en el párrafo y los lugares de las dos emperatrices fueran cambiadas. Prince Lazar did not have a wife called Desislava and therefore it is possible that the name of the emperor's first wife was only Maria, while Dragana could have been called Kira Maria, unless there was a mistake in the paragraph and the places of the two empresses were changed. Another possibility is that the two names were of one person, the first wife of the emperor, mentioned once as Kira Maria and then as Maria. That option, however, raises the question why is the name of the second wife of Ivan Shishman omitted. It has been suggested that Kira Maria descended by an important noble family from the capital Tarnovo. The names of children produced by the first marriage of Ivan Shishman are unknown. He had three sons Alexander, Asen and Fruzhin but it is unknown from by wife they were born.
