- The Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo (東京大学史料編纂所, Tōkyō daigaku shiryō hensan-jo) is a research institution affiliated with the University of Tokyo that is devoted to the analysis, compilation, and publication of historical source materials concerning Japan. Since its foundation in 1869, the Institute has been a major center of Japanese historical research, and makes historical sources available through its library, publications, and databases. (en)
- L'Institut historiographique de l'université de Tokyo (東京大学史料編纂所, Tōkyō daigaku shiryō hensanjo) est un centre de recherche spécialisé dans l'histoire. Il est créé sous la forme d'une structure indépendante en 1869 par le gouvernement de Meiji dans le but d'écrire une histoire du Japon permettant de légitimer le nouveau pouvoir impérial. Il prend modèle sur des structures similaires crée lors des périodes impériale précédentes, sous l'époque de Nara et l'époque de Heian. Sa structure évolue plusieurs fois jusqu'en 1888, date à laquelle il devient une des composantes de l'université de Tokyo. Le travail sur sa première histoire du japon, le Dai Nihon shiryō commence en 1882, et la première version est publiée en 1901. (fr)

Fu creato sotto forma di struttura indipendente nel 1869 dal governo Meiji allo scopo di scrivere una storia del Giappone che permettesse di legittimare il nuovo potere imperiale. Prese a modello strutture simili create nei precedenti periodi imperiali, in particolare nel periodo Nara e nel periodo Heian. La sua struttura evolse varie volte fino al 1888, data nella quale divenne una delle componenti dell'Università di Tokyo. Il lavoro sulla sua prima storia del Giappone, il , cominciò nel 1882, e la prima versione fu pubblicata nel 1901. (it)
