Setelah mengulang resolusi-resolusi 598 (1987), 618 (1988) dan 631 (1989) dan menyatakan laporan Sekjen Javier Pérez de Cuéllar perihal , DKPBB memutuskan untuk: (a) menyerukan agar Iran dan Irak mengimplementasikan Resolusi 598;(b) memperpanjang masa penugasan selama enam bulan sampai 31 Maret 1990;(c) meminta Sekjen untuk melaporkan situasi dan tindak yang diambil untuk mengimplementasikan Resolusi 598 pada akhir periode ini.
