The species is known from permineralized remains recovered from the Princeton Chert in British Columbia, Canada. Leaves of Uhlia have "tar spot"-like fungal infections of the extinct ascomycete , which in turn are hyperparasitized by the ascomycete Cryptodidymosphaerites.
