- Die Numbered Treaties (französisch Traités numérotés, deutsch Nummerierte Verträge) sind eine Reihe von elf Verträgen zwischen Kanada, bzw. den formal dort als Staatsoberhäuptern herrschenden Monarchen des Vereinigten Königreichs, und zahlreichen Indianerstämmen, die heute als First Nations bezeichnet werden. Die Regierung Kanadas bereitete die Verträge vor, setzte Treaty Commissioners als Unterhändler ein und ratifizierte die zwischen 1871 und 1921 entstandenen Verträge. Daher sind sie bis heute gültig. - The Numbered Treaties (or Post-Confederation Treaties) are a series of eleven treaties signed between the First Nations, one of three groups of Indigenous peoples in Canada, and the reigning monarch of Canada (Victoria, Edward VII or George V) from 1871 to 1921. These agreements were created to allow the Government of Canada to pursue settlement and resource extraction in the affected regions, which include modern-day Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories. These treaties expanded the Dominion of Canada with large tracts of land in exchange for promises made to the indigenous people of the area. These terms were dependent on individual negotiations and so specific terms differed with each treaty. (en)

Questi accordi furono creati per consentire al governo canadese di proseguire l'insediamento e l'estrazione di risorse nelle regioni interessate, che comprendono gli odierni Alberta, Columbia Britannica, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan e Territori del Nord-Ovest. Questi trattati fornivano al Dominion del Canada grandi distese di terra in cambio di promesse fatte al popolo aborigeno dell'area. - 番号付きインディアン条約（ばんごうつきインディアンじょうやく、英語：Numbered Treaties）は、1871年から1921年にかけて、北アメリカ大陸の先住民族のうちファースト・ネーションと、カナダの君主（イギリスのヴィクトリア女王、エドワード7世、もしくはジョージ5世）とのあいだで締結された11の条約である。成立年月日の順番に第1条約、第2条約というように名称が与えられた。これらの条約は、その後の先住民族とカナダ政府とのやり取りの法的基盤となった。 条約の対象地域は現在のマニトバ州、サスカチュワン州、オンタリオ州、アルバータ州、ブリティッシュコロンビア州およびノースウェスト準州であった。1871年から1877 年までに締結された第1–7条約では、プレーリー地方へのヨーロッパ人の入植を促進し、カナダ太平洋鉄道の発達に重要な役割を果たした。カナダ政府はこれら7つの条約で多額の資金を費やし、北部地域にはほとんど価値がないと考えたこともあり、その後の交渉を進めなかった。しかし1896年のクロンダイク・ゴールドラッシュにより状況は一変、カナダは条約交渉を再開し、1899年から1921年にかけて第8–11条約が締結された。 (ja)
