- Hispano-Suiza 12Y byl pístový letecký motor vyráběný společností Hispano-Suiza před druhou světovou válkou. Byl vyvinut z předchozího typu Hispano-Suiza 12X, stal se jedním z nejdůležitějších francouzských motorů s výkonem kolem 1000 koňských sil. Poháněl známé francouzské stíhací letouny té doby — Morane Saulnier MS.406 a Dewoitine D.520. HS 12Y byl široce používán a licenčně vyráběn i v jiných zemích (např. v Československu, Švýcarsku) a v tehdejším Sovětském svazu (byl tam vyráběn jako M-100). Později z něj byly vyvinuty výkonnější typy M-103 a M-105. Z motoru HS 12Y byl dále vyvinut modernější a výrazně výkonnější typ , který ale nebyl zaveden do sériové výroby před pádem Francie. (cs)
- Die Hispano-Suiza 12 sind wassergekühlte Flugmotoren des spanischen Herstellers La Hispano-Suiza. Die von der Tochterfirma Société Française Hispano-Suiza, S.A. im Werk Bois-Colombes bei Paris gebauten Zwölfzylinder-Ottomotoren kamen in den 1920er- und 1930er-Jahren vorwiegend in Militärflugzeugen der französischen Armée de l’air zum Einsatz. Der Typ HS 12Y wurde ab 1934 in der Sowjetunion als Klimow M-100 in Lizenz hergestellt. Die Tschechoslowakei produzierte den HS 12Nb/Nbr ab 1931 als Avia Vr-36 und den HS 12Ydrs ab 1935 in Lizenz. - The Hispano-Suiza 12Y was an aircraft engine produced by Hispano-Suiza for the French Air Force before the Second World War. The 12Y became the primary French 1,000 hp (750 kW) class engine and was used in a number of famous aircraft, including the Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 and Dewoitine D.520. Its design was based on the earlier, and somewhat smaller, 12X. The 12X did not see widespread use before the 12Y replaced it and became one of the most powerful French designs on the eve of the war. The 12Z was being designed but this was ended by the fall of France and the German occupation. (en)

Il a été utilisé par de nombreux avions passés à la postérité, tels les Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 ou Dewoitine D.520.Sa conception a été largement reprise dans d'autres pays. Le moteur a été produit sous licence en Tchécoslovaquie, en Espagne, en Suisse et en URSS sous le nom de Klimov M-100, où il a constitué la base de productions plus modernes avec notamment la série des Klimov VK-105.
