| - Denotace (z lat. denotare, označovat) znaku, slova nebo věty označuje jeho základní význam, jak odpovídá například slovníkové definici slova. Naopak vedlejší, hlubší nebo symbolické významy označujeme jako konotace. To, co výraz přímo označuje, je denotát. (cs)

Las palabras del lenguaje humano poseen dos tipos de significados, el denotativo o denotación y el cual tipo de significado de una palabra que es objetivo y se da en el plano de la lengua.
