Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Abi Jum'ah al-Maghrawi al-Wahrani (died 3 June 1511) was a Maliki scholar of Islamic law, active in the Maghreb (modern day Algeria and Morocco) from the end of the fifteenth century until his death. He was identified as the author of the 1504 fatwa commonly named the Oran fatwa, instructing the Muslims in Spain about how to secretly practice Islam, and granting comprehensive dispensations for them to publicly conform to Christianity and performing acts normally forbidden in Islam when necessary to survive. Because of his authorship of the fatwa he is often referred to as "the Mufti of Oran", although he likely issued the fatwa in Fez, not in Oran and he did not have any official capacity in either city.
