Von Zhang stammen auch Beiträge zur arithmetischen Dynamik mit Vermutungen, die in Richtung einer dynamischen Version der Manin-Mumford-Vermutung gehen. Zhang arbeitete auch an Beweisversuchen der abc-Vermutung.
