Rimantas Jonas Dagys (born 16 July 1957) is a Lithuanian chemist and politician, member of the Seimas (1992–1996, 1996–2000), and from 2008 to 2009 assigned Minister of Labor and Social Security by presidential decree. Rimantas Dagys was born in the settlement of Sherubay-Noora (now Abay, Kazakhstan) to a family of former Gulag prisoners, deported from Lithuania for 10 years: his mother, Filomena Dagienė was imprisoned in Vorkuta camps, his father, Jonas Dagys, in camps. The family returned to Lithuania in 1964.
