- Alexander LaVelle Harris es un personaje ficticio de la serie de televisión Buffy, la cazavampiros, interpretado por Nicholas Brendon. Será el único amigo de Buffy sin ningún superpoder, aunque él será el que de los ánimos y haga que la "Scooby-Gang" siga adelante. En la 2ª Temporada y principio de la 3ª tendrá una relación con Cordelia, aunque su mayor amor sea Anya, a la que dejará plantada en el altar. Mejor amigo de Willow, conseguirá convencer a esta de que no destruya el mundo cuando se vuelve malvada. Estuvo a punto de casarse con Anya pero la dejó plantada en el altar tras ver una visión de su futuro desastroso con Anya. Esta visión es una trampa de un demonio que se quiere vengar de Anya y, aunque Xander descubre el engaño, decide no casarse. Xander se avergüenza de su familia ya que son todos problemáticos, su padre es alcohólico. Sus problemas familiares le hicieron alistarse en el ejército durante un tiempo donde adquirió experiencia en armas y también se vio obligado a mudarse del sótano a un apartamento con Anya. Tras acabar el instituto empezó a trabajar como albañil y fue ascendiendo hasta ser el jefe de las obras de Sunnydale. Durante la séptima temporada, vive con el resto de personajes en la casa de Buffy. Se siente identificado con Dawn ya que ninguno de ellos tiene poderes mientras que están rodeado de personas "especiales": la Cazadora, una super bruja, las potenciales, un vampiro, un vigilante... Como diría Caleb: "Es el que todo lo ve" y por ello Caleb le dejará tuerto arrancándole un ojo. Tras este incidente, Xander se repondrá y seguirá luchando hasta la batalla final donde pierde a Anya. C'est l'un des personnages les plus importants de la série, étant au générique de tous les épisodes et apparaissant dans tous, à l'exception de Connivences. Il est le gaffeur de la série mais il est aussi celui qui blague, même dans les situations les plus désespérées, et a le rôle de l'ami fidèle et courageux malgré son absence de pouvoirs spéciaux. Utilisé comme principal élément comique dans les premières saisons, son rôle évolue par la suite à mesure qu'il devient plus mûr et gagne le respect des autres. Il est souvent décrit comme étant le cœur émotionnel, l'âme du Scooby-Gang dont il parvient souvent à résoudre les multiples crises. - Alexander Lavelle Harris is a fictional character created for the action-horror/fantasy television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003). He was developed by Joss Whedon and portrayed throughout the television series by Nicholas Brendon and in two episodes by his twin brother, Kelly Donovan. He was conceived as an everyman and a male character for series heroine Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to interact with, and to provide comic relief in the series. Xander is one of several friends of Buffy who assist her in saving the world against numerous supernatural events that plague Sunnydale, California, a town built over a doorway to hell. Han gör sitt bästa för att vara delaktig i kampen mot ondskan, även om han inte har någon speciell förmåga som de andra i gänget har. När Willow löper amok i säsong sex är det han som är hjälten och räddar världen från undergång. Han säger helt enkelt det Willow behöver höra: att han, som hennes vän, älskar henne. Han har kallats hjärtat i Scoobygänget, och han förlorar sitt vänstra öga i sjunde säsongen när den onda prästen Caleb petar ut det, med förklaringen att Xander är den som ”ser allt”. I de första säsongerna är Xander kär i Buffy men får nöja sig med hennes vänskap då känslorna inte är besvarade.
