- V Empire (or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein) es el primer EP y es la segunda entrega oficial de Cradle of Filth, siguiendo a The Principle of Evil Made Flesh. El título es un juego con las palabras "Vampire" y "Empire" ("Vampiro" e "Imperio" en español). Fue la última entrega de la banda por Cacophonous Records, y fue rápidamente escrito y grabado por esa marca como una obligación contractual, antes de que la banda trabajara con Music For Nations. Es generalmente considerado un EP antes de que un álbum. La cubierta trasera describe el álbum como "un ritual comprendido de seis partes teniendo una duración de cuarenta minutos". - Vempire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein is de tweede officiële muziekuitgave van extreme-metalband Cradle of Filth. De titel is een woordspeling op de woorden "Vampire" en "Empire". Dit was de laatste muziekuitgave van de band onder het label Cacophonous Records, haastig geschreven en opgenomen voor dat label als een contractuele verplichting die de bandleden waren aangegaan voordat zij overstapten naar Music For Nations. De band beschuldigde het label van "financieel wanbeheer" en wilde overstappen. Desondanks werd het album heel positief ontvangen door recensenten en fans, en een aantal nummers zijn vandaag de dag nog steeds terug te vinden in de liveoptredens van de band. De uitgave wordt eerder als een ep gezien dan een volledig album. Aanvankelijk zouden dit album en het volgende, Dusk and Her Embrace, één groot muziekalbum worden, maar uiteindelijk liep het anders vanwege de eerder genoemde problemen. De zang varieert tussen een aantal extreme stijlen om een algeheel theatraal gevoel over te brengen. Jest to wydawnictwo kończące współpracę zespołu z wytwórnią Cacophonous Records, gdyż następny album wydano przez Music for Nations. Wydawnictwo charakteryzuje się znacznie poprawioną jakością produkcji w stosunku do debiutanckiego albumu The Principle of Evil Made Flesh, utwory są szybsze i brutalniejsze. Zawiera ponownie nagrany utwór "The Forest Whispers My name". "Queen of Winter, Throned" zaczyna się w ten sam sposób, jak "A Dream of Wolves in the Snow" z poprzedniego albumu. Twórcą tekstów jest wokalista Dani Filth natomiast muzykę skomponowali wszyscy członkowie grupy. Połowa składu uległa zmianie przed nagraniem tego minialbumu, Stuart Antsis zastąpił Paula Allendera oraz Paula Ryana stanowisku gitarzysty a Damien Gregori zastąpił Benjamina Ryana na stanowisku klawiszowca. Po raz pierwszy w nagraniach zespołu wzięła udział wokalistka Sarah Jezebel Deva, późniejsza długoletnia współpracowniczka grupy. "Jared Demeter", drugi gitarzysta wymieniony w książeczce dołączonej do albumu jest osobą fikcyjną, zespół chciał utrzymać swój image jako sekstet. "Demeter" to nazwa statku, którym odbył podróż z do Anglii, nazwa została zaczerpnięta z powieści Drakula Brama Stokera. (pl)
