- El techniscope o 2-perf és un format de pel·lícula de 35 mm desenvolupat per Technicolor Italia l'any 1966, el qual va guanyar notorietat pel seu ús als “spaghetti westerns”, com “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” de Sergio Leone. A diferència del sistema de 4 perforacions per imatge, que usualment conforma la pel·lícula de 35 mm, aquest format utilitza una pel·lícula de 2 perforacions per imatge. Es creu que el cost del treball de laboratori era una mica superior, però el més atractiu del Techniscope és que permetia reduir els costos de producció a la meitat. A més, també permetia aconseguir estalvis addicionals, ja que no es necessitaven les càmeres de lents anamòrfiques, d'un cost més alt. (ca)

Im Gegensatz dazu wird bei Techniscope mit der Kamera aber ein unverzerrtes Breitbild aufgezeichnet, das erst für die Vorführkopie anamorphotisch gestaucht wird. Wurden die Vorführkopien nicht von Technicolor selbst, sondern von anderen Kopierwerken hergestellt, trugen diese die Bezeichnung Cromoscope. Era mucho más barato que la película tradicional pero la calidad de imagen era inferior. Utiliza un formato panorámico 2,35:1 rodado con lentes esféricas. Tenía la ventaja de ocupar menor espacio de negativo que otros formatos, de modo que se reducían los costes de material, pero su calidad se veía reducida al ampliar la imagen para su proyección. Le premier film tourné en Techniscope sort en décembre 1960 : La Princesse du Nil, avec Linda Cristal. Sergio Leone l'utilise pour ses films Pour une poignée de dollars (1964), Le Bon, la Brute et le Truand (1966), et Il était une fois dans l'Ouest (1968), Robert Enrico dans Les Grandes Gueules (1965), et plus tard George Lucas l'utilisera pour des raisons économiques et de style pour American Graffiti (1973). James Cameron utilise le procédé en 1997 pour réaliser les vues sous-marines du Titanic, le Techniscope doublant la durée de tournage d’un magasin de caméra, il se révèle idéal pour des prises de vues aux conditions d’accès difficiles. - Il techniscope è una variante del cinemaScope, ideata e realizzata nel 1962 negli stabilimenti italiani della Technicolor, a Roma che, insediati nel 1956, si erano già distinti nell'innovazione tecnologica - ad es. i 35mm invertibili da 100 ASA, utilizzati per le riprese delle Olimpiadi di Roma. Il sistema si distingueva dall'originale in quanto non necessitava di lenti anamorfiche per la ripresa, permettendo di ottenere lo stesso formato mediante l'utilizzo di solo metà fotogramma, con un notevole risparmio di pellicola. L'anamorfizzazione avveniva solo in sede di sviluppo: il fotogramma veniva " stirato " verticalmente, per raggiungere le quattro perforazioni standard del cinemaScope. Consentiva l'uso di lenti a focale corta, con una conseguente maggiore profondità di campo della ripresa. Per questa sua caratteristica, il techniscope si rivelò ideale per la realizzazione dei western. Fu utilizzato, ad esempio, per tutti i western di Sergio Leone. Foi um processo de tomadas bastante empregado nos anos 60, em que o filme 35 mm avançava na câmera de duas perfurações por imagem no lugar das quatro perfurações usuais. Isso dava uma imagem negativa no formato . Para obtenção de cópias de projeção, a imagem era em laboratório comprimida horizontalmente (anamorfose) e ampliada na dimensão do Scope. (pt)

- Techniscope, eller 2-Perf, är ett filmformat för 35 mm-film. Techniscope introducerades av Technicolor Italia 1963. Formatet använder sig av framdragning med två hål i perforeringen per filmruta i stället för normala fyra hål i 35 mm standardfilm. Resultatet blir dubbelt så många filmrutor per filmlängd med proportionen 2,33:1 per bild. Filmrutan kan sedan skärmas av till ned till 2,39:1 bredbildsformat. Under 1960- och 1970-talen gjordes över 350 filmer i Techniscope. Den första var The Pharaoh's Woman från december 1960. Formatet, som medgav avsevärt sänkta produktionskostnader till priset av lägre bildkvalitet, användes framför allt för lågbudgetfilmer, inte minst av italienska och andra europeiska skräck- och västernfilmer. År 1999 nylanserade australiensiska MovieLab film laboratory Techniscope-formatet med namnet MultiVision 235 i ett försök att lansera det som ett alternativ till Super 16mm-format. Argumentet var att formatet ger kvalitet som för bilder i 35 mm-film för samma kostnad som för 16mm-film. Techniscopes fördel gentemot CinemaScope är framför allt att filmkostnaden blir hälften så stor. Nackdelarna är dels att det ökade kravet på förstoringen på filmduken ökar och bilderna därmed mindre skarpa, dels att filmkameror och annan utrustning gjorts i mindre serier. Det smalare mellanrummet mellan de enskilda filmrutorna kan också i vissa fall ge problem vid visning. (sv)
