- Der Bahnhof von Locarno besteht aus zwei nicht mehr miteinander verbundenen Kopfbahnhöfen unterschiedlicher Spurweiten. Die Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen betreiben zwischen Bellinzona und Locarno die Bahnstrecke Giubiasco–Locarno, eine normalspurige Zweigstrecke der Gotthardbahn. 1912 wurde die von Domodossola kommende, meterspurige Centovallibahn fertiggestellt, die heute dort ihre unterirdische Endstation hat. Vor dem Umbau des Bahnhofs hielten die Züge der Centovallibahn an einem separaten Bahnsteig auf dem Bahnhofsplatz. Im Zuge dieses Umbaus erhielt der normalspurige Teil des Bahnhofs einen Zungenbahnsteig zwischen den Gleisen 2 und 3. Die Anlagen des Güterverkehrs beider Bahnen wurden entfernt und an ihrer Stelle entstand der unterirdische Bahnhof der FART. Der Bahnhof befindet sich auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Muralto, die Gemeindegrenze zu Locarno verläuft entlang des Baches Torrente Ramogna westlich des Bahnhofs. Nach einer Bauzeit von 2 Jahren und einer Investition von 12 Millionen Schweizer Franken wurde 2019 das renovierte Hauptgebäude wiedereröffnet. Seit November 2020 verbindet eine neue Fussgängerunterführung am östlichen Ende des Bahnhofs den SBB mit dem FART Teil direkt. (de)

- Locarno railway station (Italian: Stazione di Locarno) serves the city of Locarno, in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. However, the station is located within the adjacent municipality of Muralto, near the shore of Lake Maggiore. The border between the two municipalities runs along the Torrente Ramogna stream, a short distance to the south and west of the station. Since 1990, Locarno station has been divided into two distinct components, each served by a separately operated railway. At surface level, there is a standard gauge station, operated by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS). That station is the terminal of a branch line from Giubiasco on the Gotthard Railway. Underground, there is another terminal station, Locarno FART, for the metre gauge Domodossola–Locarno railway, an international rail link operated in Switzerland by the Regional Bus and Rail Company of Canton Ticino (Italian: Ferrovie Autolinee Regionali Ticinesi, or FART). Before the station was renovated into this form, the metre gauge trains operated from a separate platform on the station forecourt. As part of the reconstruction, the standard gauge station was augmented by a new finger platform between tracks two and three. Additionally, the two railway lines' goods yards were removed, and the underground station constructed in their place. (en)

- Locarno (włoski: Stazione di Locarno) – stacja kolejowa w Locarno, w kantonie Ticino, w Szwajcarii. Składa się z dwóch nie połączonych ze sobą dworców czołowych. SBB-CFF-FFS obsługujące linię między Bellinzoną i Locarno, wykorzystują normalnotorową linię rozgałęzienia Gotthardbahn. W 1912 otwarto linię wąskotorową z Domodossoli, której koniec obecnie znajduje się w dworcu podziemnym. Przed przebudowa stacji kolejowej, pociągi wąskotorowe zatrzymały się na osobnych peronach na placu stacji. W ramach przebudowy stacji wybudowano 2 perony obsługujące pociągi normalnotorowe, a dworzec kolei wąskotorowej umieszczono pod powierzchnią ziemi. Administracyjnie stacja położona jest na terenie gminy Muralto. (pl)
