- José Antonio Celso Solé (Mixcoac, Ciudad de México, México, 28 de julio de 1929-Ciudad de México, 15 de febrero de 2017) fue un actor de teatro, director de escena y escenógrafo mexicano.Ha sido promotor del teatro clásico en México. Con una carrera que se extendió por más de seis décadas, fue fundador de la Compañía Nacional de Teatro de México, Creador Emérito del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes y recibió distintas distinciones a su trayectoria como el Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes en 2008, la Medalla de Oro Bellas Artes, el Reconocimiento del Festival Cervantino y las Lunas del Auditorio, entre otros nacionales e internacionales. - José Solé (July 28, 1929 – February 15, 2017) was a Mexican stage actor, director, set design, theater director and more whose career extended over six decades. His interest in the theater began in childhood in a small community then outside of Mexico City proper. Although he acted some small parts in movies, he theater career began while doing formal theater training, first in Mexico then in France. He worked to promote theater in Mexico, which did not experience the kind of governmental support that the other arts did after the Mexican Revolution, performing in and directing a wide variety of plays, as well as directing theaters and even the theatrical division of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Institute of Fine Arts). He received recognition for both acting and directing early in his career, but major awards such as Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes (National Prize for Arts and Sciences) in the 2000s. (en)
