- Els goshute són una banda dels amerindis xoixons occidentals. La seva llengua és un dialecte del xoixon. El nom goshute podria derivar tant d'un líder anomenat Goship o de Gutsipupiutsi, una paraula xoixon que vol dir gent del desert. Actualment hi ha dues tribus reconegudes federalment goshutes:
* Tribus Confederades de la Reserva Goshute, situada a Nevada i Utah
* Banda Skull Valley d'Indis Goshute de Utah de la reserva índia de Skull Valley, situada a Utah (ca)
- Die Gosiute (auch: Goshute bzw. Goshiute) sind ein indianischer Stamm des Kulturareals des Großen Beckens (Great Basin) der Vereinigten Staaten, das sowohl durch das humide Klima in den hohen Bergen als auch durch die semiariden, oft wüstenähnlichen tiefen Täler geprägt ist. Alle Stämme und Völker das Great Basin (mit Ausnahme der Washoe im Westen) gehörten den Numic-sprachigen Völkern aus der uto-aztekischen Sprachfamilie an. Obwohl ihre allgemein übliche Stammesbezeichnung "Gosiute/Goshute" eine besondere sprachliche und kulturelle Nähe zu den Ute vermuten lässt, werden sie zusammen mit den Timbisha Shoshone (auch Panamint / Koso) des Death Valley kulturell den Westlichen Shoshone zugerechnet. - Les Gosiutes ou Goshutes forment une petite nation amérindienne au nord du Nevada et de l'Utah qui a compté autrefois jusqu'à près de 20 000 membres ; elle en comptait 536 en 2009. Selon les versions, leur nom renvoie soit à celui d'un de leurs chefs, nommé Goship, soit à Gutsipupiutsi, un mot Shoshone signifiant « peuple du désert ». Les Gosiutes faisaient partie des nations du Grand Bassin, s'étendant du Grand Lac Salé au dans le Nevada, et vers le sud jusqu'à , avec les Païutes, les Bannocks et les Utes. Avant le contact avec les Blancs, les Gosiutes passaient l'hiver dans la dans des maisons faites de terre et de perches de saule. Ils se nourrissaient de petit gibier, chassé au printemps et pendant l'été dans les montagnes, ainsi que de la récolte d'oignons sauvages, de carottes et de pommes de terre. Le zoologiste Ralph Vary Chamberlin a séjourné avec eux pour étudier les plantes de la région et leurs usages, publiant Ethnobotany of the Gosiute Indians of Utah. (fr)

До контакта с европейцами гошуты кочевали на зиму в долине в выкопанных в земле домах с каркасом из ивовых стволов, а весной и летом собирали дикий лук, морковь и картофель, а также охотились в горах на мелкую дичь.
