- الأخوة المرحبون هي جماعة مسيحية انفصلت عن كنيسة الأخوة البليموث والتي بدورها انفصلت عن الكنيسة الأنجليكانبة في القرن التاسع عشر. يعتقد أتباعها أنهم منفتحون ومرحبون بالكنائس الأخرى علي العكس من جماعة الأخوة البليموث الذين يأخذون موقفا متشددا من الكنائس الأخرى. (ar)
- Sota el nom de protestantisme s'apleguen les esglésies que defensen i proclamen les doctrines bàsiques de l'anomenada «Reforma» del segle XVI. Les Assemblees de Germans s'identifiquen amb la doctrina protestant i al segle XIX s'originen com un moviment de comunió entre les diverses confessions cristianes. L'aspecte que segurament ve més emfatitzat és la igualtat entre els membres de la comunitat i el rebuig a la jerarquia. Per tal de poder assolir projectes comuns, les Assemblees de Germans de Catalunya s'han dotat d'una mínima estructura organitzativa. És el que anomenen «Coordinadora de les Assembles de Germans». Les Assemblees de Germans també son conegudes com a “Asambleas de Hermanos”, “Templos Bíblicos”, “Templo Evangélico”, “Casa de Oración” o “Iglesias Cristianas Evangélicas” en països de parla hispana; “Irmãos”, “Irmãos de Plymouth”, “Assembléias dos Irmãos”, o “Casa de Oração”, a les zones parla habla portuguesa; i “Open Brethren”, “Christian Brethren”, “”, “Brethren Assembly”, “Biblie Chapel” en anglès. - The Open Brethren, sometimes called Christian Brethren, are a group of Evangelical Christian churches that arose in the late 1820s as part of the Assembly Movement within the Plymouth Brethren tradition. They originated in Ireland before spreading throughout the British Isles, and today they have an estimated 26,000 assemblies worldwide. The Open Brethren form independent, autonomous assemblies and the name "Open" is given to them to distinguish them from "Exclusive Brethren", with whom they share historic roots. The division of the Plymouth Brethren into the Open Brethren and the Exclusive Brethren took place in 1848. Open Brethren are also commonly known as "Plymouth Brethren", especially in North America. Many Open Brethren outside North America, however, are unwilling to use the "Plymouth Brethren" designation because it is associated with the Exclusive Brethren, particularly the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, which is known for its rigid interpretation of the doctrine of separation from the world. The Brethren are committed to missionary work and they also hold the view that the Bible is the first authority in matters of faith and practice. Each assembly (or congregation) is independent of the others in doctrinal matters, yet there is a high degree of communication and cooperation among those who share a similar doctrine and practice. Open Brethren assemblies form a continuum, from tight gatherings that extend fellowship only to those who have first left other denominations, to very loose gatherings that receive into fellowship any stranger without question. A building associated with a group of open brethren is usually called a "Gospel Chapel", "Gospel Hall", "Bible Chapel", "Christian Assembly" or other similar term. A sub-set of the Open Brethren are the Gospel Hall Assemblies, who tend to be more conservative than their fellow Brethren in their practices. Theologically, however, they differ very little. (en)
- Open Brethren (de öppna bröderna) är en öppnare schattering av den heterogena kristna rörelse som av utomstående kallas Plymouthbröderna, men som av dem själva kallas "bröderna" eller "brödraförsamlingen". Skillnaden gentemot Exclusive Brethren är främst att de öppna församlingarna väljer att engagera sig mer i det omgivande samhället. Man har också ofta en generösare inställning till andra kristna. I många öppna församlingar välkomnas t.ex. alla troende och döpta, oavsett kyrkotillhörighet, till nattvardsbordet. 1914 skrev Dr Rendle Short boken The Principles of "Open Brethren”. Där sammanfattades brödernas lära i sju punkter om bland annat troendedop genom nedsänkning, avvisandet av avlönade pastorer och rätten för alla troende att medverka i gudstjänsten.
