The 22nd National Film Awards, presented by Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to celebrate the best of Indian Cinema released in 1974. On the occasion of 25th Anniversary of India's Independence, two special awards were given for Best Feature Film and Best Short Film.
