The 1992–93 New Jersey Devils season was the franchise's 11th season in New Jersey. The Devils finished fourth in the Patrick Division with a record of 40 wins, 37 losses and seven ties for 87 points. However, they lost the Patrick Division Semi-final to the Presidents' Trophy-winning Pittsburgh Penguins in five games. The Devils were coached by Herb Brooks, who had led the U.S. men's ice hockey team to victory in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York. The team was captained by defenseman Scott Stevens.
