Nelson Piquet is a Brazilian former racing driver who won three Formula One World Championships. He made his Formula One debut in 1978 with Ensign at the 1978 German Grand Prix. He then went on to drive in three races for BS Fabrications and one race for Brabham, before signing permanently with the British team. He spent seven seasons with Brabham, winning two World Championships in 1981 and 1983 respectively, before moving to Williams in 1986. Over the next two years, Piquet formed an intense rivalry with teammate Nigel Mansell, which sometimes spilled over off track, with the former making remarks about Mansell's wife.
