Кристаллогра́фия — наука о кристаллах, их структуре, возникновении и свойствах. Она тесно связана с минералогией, физикой твёрдого тела и химией. Исторически кристаллография возникла в рамках минералогии, как наука, описывающая идеальные кристаллы. Задачей кристаллографии является изучение строения, физических свойств кристаллов, условий их образования, разработка методов исследования и определения вещества по кристаллической форме, физическим особенностям и тому подобного. В кристаллографии выделяют направления работ: علم البلورات يختص بدراسة البلورات من حيث شكلها الظاهري أو الخارجي وتركيبها الداخلي والتعرف عليها وعلى الصخور والمعادن التي تحويها.وتوجد أنواع لهذه البلورات فالصلبة منها توجد في بعض المركبات مثل ملح الطعام، ومنها السائلة كما في شاشة البلور السائل. تتبلور الأملاح والمعادن في أشكال بلورية مختلفة، منها: * نظام بلوري مكعب: مثل الحديد والنحاس والفضة وملح الطعام * نظام بلوري رباعي * نظام بلوري ثلاثي * نظام بلوري ثلاثي الميل * نظام بلوري أحادي الميل * نظام بلوري معيني قائم * نظام بلوري سداسي ، مثل الجرافيت. Kristalografi merupakan sains eksperimental yang bertujuan menentukan susunan atom dalam zat padat. Dahulu istilah ini digunakan untuk studi ilmiah kristal. Kata "kristalografi" berasal dari kata bahasa Yunani crystallon = tetesan dingin/beku, dengan makna meluas kepada semua padatan transparan pada derajat tertentu, dan graphein = menulis. Krystalografia (od greckich słów κρύσταλλος krystallos – „lód”, które później zaczęło oznaczać także kryształ górski i inne kryształy, oraz γράφω grapho – „piszę”) – dział nauki zajmujący się opisem, klasyfikacją i badaniem kryształów, krystalitów oraz substancji o strukturze częściowo uporządkowanej. Jej zakres pokrywa się częściowo z mineralogią, fizyką ciała stałego, chemią i materiałoznawstwem. É também a ciência experimental que estuda o cristal, ou cristais. * Cristal: a maioria dos cristalígrafos hoje, usa o termo cristal referindo-se a qualquer sólido com estrutura interna ordenada, possua ele ou não faces externas. La cristallografia (dal greco "krystallos", "ghiaccio" e "graphein", "scrivere") è la scienza che si occupa dello studio dei cristalli. In particolare si occupa della loro formazione, crescita, struttura microscopica, aspetto macroscopico e proprietà fisiche. Talvolta il termine "cristallografia" viene impropriamente utilizzato con un significato più ristretto per indicare le tecniche sperimentali utilizzate per determinare la disposizione degli atomi nei solidi. Kristallografi är en experimentell vetenskap som studerar atomstrukturer i solida material. I äldre litteratur betecknar namnet vetenskaplig forskning av kristaller. Ordet härstammar från grekiska ordet crystallon = kall droppe / frusen droppe (med den förlängda betydelsen till alla solida material, med någon form av transparens) och graphein = skriva. Före utvecklingen av röntgenkristallografi, baserades studierna av kristaller på kristallernas geometri. The word "crystallography" is derived from the Greek words κρύσταλλος (krystallos) "clear ice, rock-crystal", with its meaning extending to all solids with some degree of transparency, and γράφειν (graphein) "to write". In July 2012, the United Nations recognised the importance of the science of crystallography by proclaiming that 2014 would be the International Year of Crystallography. Before the development of X-ray diffraction crystallography (see below), the study of crystals was based on physical measurements of their geometry using a goniometer. This involved measuring the angles of crystal faces relative to each other and to theoretical reference axes (crystallographic axes), and establishing the symmetry of the crystal in question. The position in 3D space of each crystal face is plotted on a stereographic net such as a Wulff net or Lambert net. The pole to each face is plotted on the net. Each point is labelled with its Miller index. The final plot allows the symmetry of the crystal to be established. Crystallographic methods now depend on analysis of the diffraction patterns of a sample targeted by a beam of some type. X-rays are most commonly used; other beams used include electrons or neutrons. Crystallographers often explicitly state the type of beam used, as in the terms X-ray crystallography, neutron diffraction and electron diffraction. These three types of radiation interact with the specimen in different ways. * X-rays interact with the spatial distribution of electrons in the sample. * Electrons are charged particles and therefore interact with the total charge distribution of both the atomic nuclei and the electrons of the sample. * Neutrons are scattered by the atomic nuclei through the strong nuclear forces, but in addition, the magnetic moment of neutrons is non-zero. They are therefore also scattered by magnetic fields. When neutrons are scattered from hydrogen-containing materials, they produce diffraction patterns with high noise levels. However, the material can sometimes be treated to substitute deuterium for hydrogen. Because of these different forms of interaction, the three types of radiation are suitable for different crystallographic studies. De kristallografie is een interdisciplinair vakgebied tussen meerdere natuurwetenschappen dat zich van oudsher bezighoudt met kristallen, kristalgroei, habitus (macroscopische kristalvorm) en andere macroscopische eigenschappen van roosterstructuren. Deze komen voor in kristallijne materialen, zoals metalen, keramiek en mineralen.
