- Éric Teyssier est né le 30 décembre 1962 et est un universitaire et historien français. Après un doctorat sur la vente des biens nationaux en Ardèche, il publie de nombreux articles sur l’histoire économique et sociale de la Révolution et de l’Empire. Par le biais de l’histoire vivante et de l’archéologie expérimentale, il s’intéresse ensuite à l’époque romaine et notamment aux gladiateurs dont il devient l’un des spécialistes. Il devient par la suite grandement actif dans les domaines de la vulgarisation historique à travers différents médias, (reconstitution historique, spectacles, émissions de radio, documentaires, biographies, livres pour enfants, roman, etc.). After he obtained his doctorate on the sale of the Biens nationaux in Ardèche, he published numerous articles on the economic and social history of the French Revolution and the first French Empire. Through living history and experimental archeology, he became interested in the Roman period and especially with the gladiators, of which he became one of the specialists. (en)
