- Yungtön Dorjepel (Wylie: gYung-ston(pa) rdo-rje dpal) est né à Gorma (ou Gurmo) près du monastère de Shalu, dans la province de Tsang, en 1284 dans la famille d'un lama tantrique de la famille de Len. Durant sa jeunesse, il est allé en Chine sur l'invitation de l'Empereur où il aurait pu appeler la pluie après une longue sécheresse. Il a acquis une compréhension profonde du Kalachakra sous la direction de . Il a cultivé les instructions ésotériques, notamment la Grande Perfection grâce à la grande inspiration du 3e Karmapa, dont il devint l'héritier spirituel et l'un des maillons du Rosaire d'Or. Il a résidé et a enseigné dans les différents lieux comme Paro au Bhoutan, , et . Il est mort en 1365. Dans la lignée tibétaine du panchen-lama, on considère qu'il y a eu 4 émanations indiennes et 3 tibétaines du Bouddha Amitābha avant Khedrup Gelek Pelzang, qui est reconnu comme le premier Panchen Lama. La lignée commence avec Subhuti, un des disciples d'origine du Gautama Bouddha. - Yungtön Dorjepel (Wylie: g.yung ston rdo rje dpa) was born at Gorma (or Gurmo) near Shalu Monastery in the province of Tsang in 1284 CE into the family of a tantric priest of the Len clan. During his youth he went to China on the command of the Emperor where he caused rain to fall after a long drought. He gained a deep understanding of the Kalachakra under Putön Rinpoche. He cultivated the esoteric instructions, particularly Dzogchen, due to the great inspiration of Rangjung Dorje, 3rd Karmapa Lama. He resided and taught in various places such as Paro in Bhutan, , and . He died in 1365 CE. In the lineage of the Tibetan Panchen Lamas there were considered to be four Indian and three Tibetan incarnations of Amitābha before Khedrup Gelek Pelzang, 1st Panchen Lama. The lineage starts with Subhuti, one of the original disciples of Gautama Buddha. Yungtön Dorjepel is considered to be the final Tibetan incarnation of Amitābha before the Panchen Lamas. (en)
