- يارا رفعت سلّام نسوية مصرية بارزة ومدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان، ولدت في 24 نوفمبر 1985، عملت كمحامية وباحثة للعديد من منظمات حقوق الإنسان المصرية والعالمية فضلاً عن اللجنة الأفريقية لحقوق الإنسان والشعوب . في 21 يونيو 2014 تم إلقاء القبض عليها هي و30 آخرين كانوا يسيرون قرب قصر الاتحادية في مظاهرة سلمية تندد بالقانون المصري الذي يقيد من حق التظاهر. وتمت محاكمتها هي و22 آخرين فيما يعرف بقضية قصر الاتحادية التي أصبحت رمزاً لمقاومة القيود التي فرضتها حكومة الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي على المعارضة. وقد قالت منظمة العفو الدولية عن القضية أنها محاكمة استعراضية مبنية على أدلة غير كافية ومشكوك فيها، والهدف منها أن تكون تحذيراً لأي شخص يحتج على قانون التظاهر في مصر. - Yara Sallam (en árabe: يارا رفعت سلّام) (24 de noviembre de 1985) es una defensora de los derechos humanos y feminista egipcia. Ha trabajado como abogada e investigadora para varias organizaciones de derechos humanos egipcias e internacionales, así como para la Comisión Africana de Derechos Humanos y de los Pueblos. El 21 de junio de 2014 fue detenida junto a varias decenas de personas que marchaban en cercanías del Palacio Heliópolis, —sede de las oficinas presidenciales en El Cairo—, en una manifestación pacífica contra la ley egipcia que restringe el derecho a la protesta. Yara Sallam y otras 22 personas fueron acusadas de violar la ley que reglamenta las manifestaciones públicas. Su detención se convirtió en un símbolo de la resistencia a las severas restricciones a la disidencia impuestas por el gobierno del presidente Abdelfatah Al-Sisi. Amnistía Internacional calificó el caso como "[...] otro juicio más basado en evidencia escasa y dudosa que pretende ser una advertencia clara para cualquiera que desafíe la ley de protesta de Egipto. El caso proporciona la prueba más reciente de la determinación de las autoridades egipcias de sofocar la protesta pacífica y sofocar todas las formas de disenso." (es)
- Yara Sallam (Arabic: يارا رفعت سلّام; born November 24, 1985) is a prominent Egyptian feminist and human rights advocate. She has worked as a lawyer and researcher for several Egyptian and international human rights organizations, as well as for the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR). On June 21, 2014, she was arrested along with at least 30 other activists who were marching near Ittihadiya Palace, the Presidential offices in Cairo, in a peaceful demonstration against the Egyptian law that curtails the right to protest. Her trial along with 22 fellow demonstrators, all charged with violating the protest law, has become a symbol of resistance to harsh restrictions on dissent imposed by the government of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Amnesty International called the case a "show-trial based on scant and dubious evidence that is intended to be a clear warning to anyone who defies Egypt’s protest law." (en)

Op 21 juni 2014 werd Sallam samen met minstens dertig andere activisten gearresteerd bij het presidentieel paleis in Heliopolis tijdens een vreedzame demonstratie tegen de Egyptische wet die het recht op protest inperkt.
