- Das WeTab war ein im März 2010 vorgestellter Tablet-PC, dessen Produktion, Verkauf und Weiterentwicklung 2012 eingestellt worden ist. Das Bedienkonzept und die Benutzeroberflächen entwickelte die 4tiitoo AG. Entwickelt wurde das Gerät seit 2007 auf Basis einer Hardware von Pegatron, Produkthaftung und Support übernahm Medion. Die Markteinführung erfolgte im Rahmen eines Joint-Ventures mit dem Unternehmen ; die Zusammenarbeit endete im November 2010. Vor der Markteinführung wurde das Gerät oft mit dem Apple iPad verglichen, später distanzierte sich der Hersteller von diesem Vergleich. Nach mehreren Verzögerungen wurde das Gerät ab September 2010 ausgeliefert. Bei Tests in der Fachpresse wurde das Gerät vielfach als technisch unfertig und der Konkurrenz unterlegen kritisiert. Daraufhin behob die 4tiitoo AG teilweise die Kritikpunkte an OS und Software durch nachträgliche Updates. Die für das WeTab notwendige Serverlandschaft wird durch die Nachfolgefirma 42 Abwicklungs AG betrieben, da das Unternehmen im November 2013 Insolvenz anmeldete. (de)

El producto fue presentado en marzo de 2010 y su producción, venta y desarrollo posterior se suspendió en 2012. Inicialmente se comercializó como WePad, hasta que Neofonie cambió repentinamente su nombre a WeTab en mayo de 2010. Después su director ejecutivo renunció tras haberse revelado que él mismo había escrito encubiertamente críticas brillantes de la tableta en Amazon. La tableta fue presentada como similar en sus funciones a la primera versión del iPad de Apple aunque más grande y potente. Funcionaba sobre MeeGo OS, con una interfaz de usuario rediseñada. El dispositivo contaba con una pantalla LED de 11,6 pulgadas (29,5 cm) con capacidades multitáctiles, de 16 a 64 gigabytes (GB) de espacio tipo memoria flash, Bluetooth, y dos puertos USB. Se comercializaron dos modelos: uno con conectividad a redes inalámbricas Wi-Fi 802.11n y otro con capacidades adicionales para redes 3G (puede conectarse a redes de telefonía celular HSDPA) y GPS Asistido. The specifics include an 11.6" TN-panel touch screen (1366×768 resolution), a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 processor with fan, 16 GB NAND memory and a total weight of the device of an announced 800 g (1.8 lb), but actually 1.002 kg (2.21 lb). Most media coverage in relation to the WeTab took place in German. WeTab GmbH began mass marketing in September 2010. Retailers of the device are Amazon.de and German electronics retail giant Media Markt.
