- Turniej olimpijski w piłce siatkowej mężczyzn podczas XXVI Letnich Igrzysk Olimpijskich w Atlancie był dziewiątą edycją w historii halowej odmiany tej dyscypliny sportu. Turniej olimpijski rozegrano w dniach od 21 lipca do 4 sierpnia 1996 roku. W turnieju startowało 12 reprezentacji. Reprezentacje podzielono na dwie sześciodrużynowe grupy, w których zespoły rozegrały ze sobą po jednym spotkaniu. Po cztery najlepsze drużyny z każdej grupy awansowały do ćwierćfinałów, po których rozegrano półfinały, finał i mecz o 3. miejsce. Drużyny, które przegrały ćwierćfinały, rozegrały mecze o miejsca 5-8. Nie rozgrywano spotkań o miejsca 9-12. Po raz kolejny w piątym secie zastosowano Railly Point System (każda akcja kończyła się zdobyciem punktu), ale zespół musiał mieć dwupunktową przewagę. Pierwszy złoty medal igrzysk olimpijskich zdobyła reprezentacja Holandii, która pokonała w finale reprezentację Włoch 3:2, a w całym turnieju przegrała jedno spotkanie na osiem rozegranych. (pl)
