- Vladímir Valentínovich Aleksándrov (en ruso, Владимир Валентинович Александров; nacido en 1938) fue un físico soviético que creó un modelo matemático para la teoría del invierno nuclear. Desapareció el 31 de marzo de 1985 mientras se encontraba en Madrid (España) para asistir a la II Conferencia Internacional de Municipios y Zonas No Nucleares celebrada en Córdoba, y su destino final permanece desconocido aunque sujeto a especulaciones. Una de sus últimas publicaciones fue El hombre y la biosfera, sobre la cual se dice que trazaba la tendencia cambiante en la ciencia del invierno nuclear y de la cual fue coautor junto a Nikita Nikoláievich Moiséyev y Aleksándr Mijáilovich Tarko. One of his last papers was Man and Biosphere published in 1985; it is said to have charted the moving trend in the science of nuclear winter. It was co-authored with Nikita Moiseyev and A. M. Tarko. The last moments of his life are shrouded in contradiction. When questioned by journalists in 1986, his acquaintances in Madrid gave differing accounts of how much he resisted when being driven towards the Soviet embassy. In 2016 Andrew Revkin argued, "He's almost assuredly dead. ...This wasn't just, you know, thumb-sucking climate science. It was in the middle of a war—a long Cold War—and there were bodies." (en)
