- Valssassina je údolí v regionu Lombardie, provincie Lecco v Itálii. Údolím protéká řeka Pioverna, která pramení na Cima di Muschiada a ústí do jezera Como. Řeka protéká údolím z jihu na sever. Před ústím protéká soutěskou Orrido di Bellano. Na západní straně údolí se tyčí členitý masív Gringe a Bergamské Předalpy na východě jsou Orobské Alpy. Do údolí Begama vede silnice 64 z města Moggio, která stoupá na San Pietro a pak sestupuje do údolí Val Taleggio. Severní část údolí Valssassina má největší hustotu osídlení. Většinu tvoří malá sídla na slunných svazích Monte di Mugio de Cimone di Margno. Údolí je proslaveno výrobou tradičních sýrů Taleggio a Caprino. (cs)

It is included between the Grigne range from West, and the Bergamo Prealps which, in a half-circle stretching from North to East, separate it from the valley of the area of Bergamo and the Valtellina. Valsassina also reaches the Lecco's branch of Lake Como at Lecco itself and Bellano. The valley is run by the Pioverna stream, which flows from the Grigne to the Lake Como. It's peculiar because it flows South-to-North. MorphologyValsassina is enclosed between the group of Grigne, to the west, and the group of the Bergamo Alps, which, in a semi-circle from the east to the north, separate it from the valleys of Bergamo and Valtellina. It connects to the Lecco branch of Lake Como with two outlets, in Lecco and Bellano. - Het Valsassina is een Italiaans bergdal in de regio Lombardije (provincie Lecco). Het hoofddal is uitgesleten door de rivier de die ontspringt op de Cima di Muschiada. De Colle di Balisio (723 m) is het hoogste punt van de dalbodem en ligt op zo'n acht kilometer ten noorden van de stad Lecco. Niet ver hiervandaan ligt Barzio dat 's winters een belangrijk wintersportcentrum is. De westzijde van de vallei wordt beheerst door het grillige bergmassief van de , in het oosten liggen de Orobische Alpen waarvan hier de (2554 m) de hoogste top is. In Bellano aan het Comomeer stort de Pioverna zich omlaag door een spectaculaire kloof: de Orrido. Het noordelijke deel van het Valsassina is het dichtstbevolkt. De meeste plaatsen zijn klein en liggen op de zonrijke hellinggen van de Monte di Mugio de Cimone di Margno.
