- Unie asociací mezinárodních horských průvodců (anglicky: Union of International Mountain Leader Associations, UIMLA) je mezinárodní, nestátní organizace, která sdružuje národní asociace mezinárodních horských průvodců. Byla založena v roce 2004 a jejím sídlem je Villars-sur-Ollon. V současné době unie sdružuje více než 5000 horských profesionálů a profesionálek působících po celém světě. Výsledkem mezinárodní spolupráce členských států UIMLA je kvalifikace označovaná ve zkratce jako IML - International Mountain Leader – v překladu mezinárodní horský průvodce. Tento titul či osvědčení dokládá u jeho nositele mezinárodně uznaný přesně stanovený rozsah znalostí a dovedností potřebných pro vedení osob v horských podmínkách do přesně stanoveného stupně technické obtížnosti. Český spolek horských průvodců reprezentuje Českou republiku v této mezinárodní unii a spolupracuje s členskými organizacemi na zavedení jednotného standardu vzdělání, etiky a práce horských průvodců. Mezinárodní kvalifikace horského průvodce UIMLA a horského vůdce IFMGA jsou jediné mezinárodně uznávané kvalifikace v horách na celém světě. (cs)
- Die Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA; deutsch Vereinigung der internationalen Bergführerverbände) wurde im November 2004 gegründet. Die UIMLA ist seit 2019 ein UIAA-Mitglied. Der Hauptsitz der UIMLA befindet sich unter:UIMLA, Maison des Parcs et de la Montagne, 256, Rue de la République F-73000 Chambéry, Frankreich. In der Sitzung wurde beschlossen, dass alle IML Mitglieder das gleiche Carnet und das gleiche Abzeichen erhalten, das eine international anerkannte Identität verleiht. Es ebnet auch den Weg für andere Länder auf der ganzen Welt, sich der UIMLA anzuschließen, die einen Weltstandard für Bergführer setzt. (de)
- The Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA) was founded in November 2004. It was decided at the meeting that all mountain leader associations would be awarded the same carnet and badge giving an internationally recognised identity. It also paves the way for other countries from around the world to join UIMLA setting a world standard for mountain leaders. The principal aims of UIMLA are:
* To promote the profession of International Mountain Leader (IML) and to reinforce its identity beyond Europe;
* To develop relationships between the professionals of various nationalities and to take part in the evolution of the IML training and qualifications;
* To represent the profession at a European and international level. The UIMLA International Mountain Leader and the IFMGA Mountain Guide are the only internationally recognised qualifications for those leading groups in the mountains. The International Mountain Leader Award is the professional qualification for individuals who wish to lead trekking parties to all mountain areas, summer and winter, where the techniques or equipment of alpinism are not required. On successful completion of the full training and assessment programme, and by belonging to their recognised National Body, the individual will gain the full IML Award, a professional Carnet and Internationally recognised badge, giving them comparability with other IMLs worldwide.
