- لجنة النطاق العريض من أجل التنمية المستدامة (التنمية الرقمية حتي عام 2015) أنشئت في مايو 2010 كمبادرة مستركة من الاتحاد الدولي الاتصالات، ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والتعلم والثقافة (اليونسكو) بهدف تعزيز الاتصال بالانترنت. وعلي وجه الخصوص، شبكات النطاق العريض سعيًا لتحقيق الأهداف الإنمائية للأمم المتحدة مثل الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية (حتى عام 2015). و تم تغيير اسم اللجنة لتصبح لجنة النطاق العريض من أجل التنمية المستدامة، وذلك بعد تبني أهداف التنمية المستدامة من قبل الأمم المتحدة في سبتمبر 2015. - The Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development (until 2015: Digital Development) was established in May 2010 as a joint initiative by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote Internet access, in particular, broadband networks in order to help achieve United Nations development goals, such as the Millennium Development Goals (until 2015). The Commission was renamed the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, following the adoption of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals in September 2015. (en)
