- مأساة (بالإنجليزية: Tragedy) أغنية للفريق الثلاثي البي جيز كتبها باري وروبن وموريس جيب، وصدرت عام 1979 ضمن البوم «طارت الأرواح Spirits Having Flown». صعدت الأغنية إلى المركز الأول على القوائم البريطانية في فبراير 1979، ثم صعدت في مارس للمركز الأول على قوائم هوت بيلبورد. كتب الثلاثي الأغنية أثناء عملهم على أغاني فيلم «فريق الرقيب بيبر للقلوب الوحيدة Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band» والذي كان من بطولتهم، كما كتبوا في نفس اليوم أغنيتهم «كثيراً من النعيم Too Much Heaven»، وأيضا الأغنية التي غناها أخيهم الأصغر «آندي جيب» منفرداً «رقص الظل Shadow Dancing» والتي احتلت قمة قوائم البيلبورد. كتبت مجلة «رولنج ستون»: «الأغنية لها نفس ثقل أغنيتهم» البقاء حياً Stayin' Alive«، ولها جاذبية رائعة للأصوات، والعزف، والتناغم». Il singolo raggiunse la posizione numero uno nella classifica inglese nel febbraio 1979 per due settimane, e quella della classifica statunitense il mese successivo per due settimane ed in Canada per quattro settimane, in Brasile, in Nuova Zelanda, ottenendo anche un notevole successo nel resto del mondo dove arriva primo in Francia, Italia, Irlanda e Spagna, secondo in Austria, Svizzera, Australia, Cile, Cina, Germania e Sud Africa, quarto in Norvegia, quinto in Olanda, sesto in Svezia e settimo in Finlandia. Benché non presente nella colonna sonora del film La febbre del sabato sera, Tragedy fu in seguito inserita nell'accompagnamento musicale del musical ispirato al film. Il singolo ebbe il merito di scalzare dalla vetta della Billboard Hot 100 I Will Survive di Gloria Gaynor per due settimane, per poi lasciare nuovamente il posto al singolo della Gaynor, che mantenne la vetta per un'ulteriore settimana. Nel 1979 la NBC mandò in onda uno speciale sui Bee Gees, in cui fu mostrato come il suono dell'esplosione presente nel brano era stato realizzato. Barry Gibb riproduceva un suono sordo con le proprie mani, ed in fase di mixaggio tale effetto veniva amplificato e moltiplicato per avere l'effetto di una forte esplosione. Nel 1998 una cover di Tragedy registrata dalla band Steps arrivò fino alla seconda posizione classifica inglese. Nel 2006 anche i Celldweller hanno realizzato una cover del brano per il download su iTunes. (it)
