- El poble tonocoté (tonocotés o tonokotés) són un poble natiu de l'Argentina que habita a la província de Santiago del Estero. Els actuals tonocots són coneguts també com a jurís, i en part descendeixen a través de mestissatge dels antics tonocots; parlen un dialecte propi derivat de l'antic quítxua de la regió de Santiago; estan distribuïts en 19 comunitats rurals amb aproximadament 6.000 habitants als departaments de San Martín, Figueroa i Avellaneda. El Consell de la Nació Tonocoté "Llutquí" de Santiago del Estero és l'organització que els agrupa, estant format per fins a trenta-una comunitats totalment o parcialment de l'ètnia a la província de Santiago del Estero i dues comunitats emigrants establertes a Buenos Aires. La bandera de la nació és blau cel amb la creu inca al centre, formada per tretze quadres, el central vermell, quatre formant una creu de color verd, i la resta marró fosc. (ca)
- شعب تونوكوتيه في سنتياجو الإقليم التابع للغات لولى-بليلا شعب التونوكوتيه: هم طائفة من السكان الأصليين الذين يسكنون محافظات سنتياجو دي استيرو وتوكومان في الأرجنتين. جنبا إلى جنب ومع الشعوب الأخرى في توكومان القديمة، وقد ادعي الإسبان المحلفون تشويه كلمة كيتشوا التي تعنى ناندو، التي أطلقوها علي السكان الأصليين الذين يرتدون ثوبًا من ريش هذا الطائر وانتقلوا في مجموعات محددة. وبمرور الوقت وفي نهاية عام 1574 ظهر في وثيقة أن شعب التونوكوتيه قد استوطنوا بالداخل. وكانوا ينتمون إلي براسيليدو، وهم يتميزون بالطول المتوسط والوجه المدور والأنف المتوسطة، وقد اكتسبوا تقاليد الإنديز واستقروا بها وعملوا بالزراعة وصيد الطيورووصيد السمك. وفي العصور قبل الإسبانية كانوا يسكنون وسط منطقة في جنوب سواحل سانتياجو وسكنوا في المنطقة الحالية بسنتياجو أيضًا. ويحدهم من الشمال لوليس ومن الجنوب سانابرونس ومن الغرب دياجيتاس ومن الشرق نهر سالادو.وقد أنشأوا تلالًا علي بعد ارتفاعات اصطناعية من الأرض. وقد قاموا باستخدام الفيضانات السنوية لأنهار دولسي وسالادو في رى محاصيلهم وهي: الذرة والكينا والفاصوليا والقرع. وتأثروا تأثيرًا كبيرًا بثقافات الإنديز.كما قاموا بتربية حيوان اللاما والنعام الامريكى. وعملوا أيضًا بالخروب وأنواع التونة والكاكاو. وقد برعوا في صناعة الفخار فقاموا بعمل أوعية كبيرة لحفظ الموتي وذلك بدافع الصناعة الجيدة. وعرفوا أيضًا المعادن البدائية وطوروا الأنسجة والحلى. وكان الآله الرسمي يدعي كاكنتشيك وكانوا يمتلكون خصائص جيدة ورديئة في نفس الوقت، واعتبروه الحارس للأراضى المزروعة. وقد حافظوا فقط علي كلمتين من لغتهم الأصلية: جاستا بمعني شعب وجوالمبا بمعني كبير، ودرست بواسطة بادري ألونسو ديه بارسانا، ولكن لم يحافظوا على أي كتابة. شعب التونوكوتيه الحالى يعتبر من أحفاد الهجناء لشعب التونوكوتيه القديم وتحدثوا لهجة خاصة مشتقة من الكوتشيه السنتياجو. وتم تقسيمهم إلي تسعة عشر مجتمعًا ريفيًا مع مايقرب ستة آلاف مقيم في مراكز سان مارتن وفيجروا وابيانيدا. - The Tonocotés or Tonokotés are an aboriginal people inhabiting the provinces of Santiago del Estero and Tucumán in Argentina. The Spaniards called the tonocotés and other peoples of the former Tucumán as Juríes, deformation of the Quechua word xuri that means Rhea, because of the kind of loincloth feathers of this bird that the natives wore and that they moved into real flocks. In 1574 the name of tonocoté appears on a document and eventually supplanted the earlier denomination. They belong to brasílido type: height and nose are median and have broad face. They received a strong influence of Andean cultures, being sedentary and practicing agriculture, hunting, fishing and gathering. In ancient times inhabited the south-central plains of Santiago del Estero and the current city. Limited to the north by the lules, south by the sanavirones, west to the diaguitas and east by the Salado River. The houses were built on artificial mounds forming elevation, were round and made with slightly durable material and thatch. Enclosed their villages with palisades. The annual flooding of the Dulce and Salado rivers were used to irrigate their crops of corn, quinoa, beans and squash. Raised llamas and ostriches. They also practiced collecting algarroba, chañar, opuntia and wild honey. They stand out in pottery making large funeral urns and pucos, with elaborate motifs. They also developed the loom, feather ornaments and basketry. Their main god was Cacanchic, the protector of crops. From its original language only are preserved two words: Gasta and Gualamba, assumed mean people and large respectively. This was studied by Father Alonso de Bárzana. By 1480 the Inca Empire occupied northwestern Argentina, incorporating part of the tonocotés. Current tonocotés are known as suritas. They are partially mestizos descended from the ancient tonocotés and speak their own dialect derived from Santiago del Estero's quichua. They are distributed in 19 rural communities with about 6,000 residents in the departments of San Martín, Figueroa and Avellaneda from Santiago del Estero.(According to the 2010 national census, the tonocotés village had 4,853 inhabitants) (en)
