- Thomas Stellmach (* 1965 in Straubing) ist Trickfilmregisseur, Produzent, Autor und Animator. Für seine Independent-Produktionen erhielt er neben etwa 50 internationalen Auszeichnungen 1997 den Oscar der Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences für den Stop-Motion Film Quest, der 1996 im Rahmen des Trickfilmfestival Stuttgart bereits mit dem SDR-Publikumspreis, dem heutigen SWR-Publikumspreis prämiert wurde. Außerdem nahm er mit den Filmen Ätsch und Gulp an der Werkstatt für junge Filmer (heute Werkstatt der Jungen Filmszene) teil. Er studierte Animation bei dem Trickfilmkünstler und Professor Paul Driessen an der Kunsthochschule Kassel. Nach seinem künstlerischen Hochschulabschluss gründete er 2000 mit zwei Partnern das Trickstudio Lichthof – Film & Animation in Kassel und produzierte bis 2008 für Fernsehen und Werbung. 2009 hat Stellmach seinen Firmenanteil abgegeben und konzentriert sich seither wieder auf künstlerische Projekte. Die Produktionen umfassen Computeranimation, Stop-Motion, Zeichentrick und Pixilation. In seinem neuesten animierten abstrakten Experimentalfilm Virtuos Virtuell visualisierte er zusammen mit seiner Regie-Partnerin und Künstlerin Maja Oschmann die Ouvertüre zur Oper Der Alchymist von Louis Spohr mit schwarzer Tusche sowie in Stereoskopie. Die 3D-Fassung des Films ist seit 2013 in die Dauerausstellung des Spohr Museums integriert. Im gleichen Jahr erschien der Film auch auf DVD. Stellmach ist Jurymitglied auf Festivals und hält Workshops an folgenden Schulen und Institutionen:

- Thomas Stellmach (born 1965 in Straubing, West Germany) is a German animated film producer and director. Stellmach has received many awards including the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film for his 1996 film Quest. Stellmach studied at the Department of Animation at the University of Kassel Art College in Germany, being taught by the well-known artist Paul Driessen. Having received his Degree of Arts in 1999 Stellmach founded the animation studio Lichthof, Film & Animation in Kassel with two partners and produced animation films for television and advertising. He has handed off his share of the company to focus on artistic animation projects since 2009. His field of experience contains computer animation, stop motion, animated cartoon and pixilation. Stellmach directed the animated experimental film Virtuos Virtuell with the artist Maja Oschmann to the overture of Louis Spohr's opera The Alchymist in stereoscopic. So far he hold workshops at various academies, e.g.
