- Theudechilda také Theudechild z germánského Theut-hild (540? - 570?) byla franská královna, manželka krále Chariberta I. Podle Řehoře z Tours a jeho historiografie Historia Francorum byla dcerou pastýře či pasáka krav. V roce 566 se provdala za krále Chariberta. Byla druhou ze čtyř králových manželek, které církev uznala za legitimní. V manželství se narodil jeden syn, který zemřel při narození, podle Řehoře z Tours když vyšel z lůna, byl hned odnesen do hrobu. a dcera . Mezi Charibertovými manželkami Ingobergou, Merofledou a Marcovefou nebyla nejmocnější manželkou, ale dokázala si udržet jeho přízeň a hromadit bohatství pro sebe. Po Charibertově smrti se chtěla provdat za krále Guntrama. Guntram byl k tomuto návrhu vstřícný a Theudechildu utvrzoval v tom, že v jeho království bude mít respektované postavení. Na jeho dvůr dorazila i se svým luxusním majetkem, kterého se Guntram zmocnil a Theudechildu uzavřel do kláštera. Během pobytu v klášteře se pokusila uprchnout do Hispánie ve společnosti vizigótského cestujícího, ale abatyše ji chytila. Podle Řehoře z Tours ji Abatyše přistihla při činu, nemilosrdně ji zbila a zavřela do své cely. Tam zůstala až do své smrti a trpěla strašnými muky. (cs)

En el 566, se convierte en la segunda esposa del rey franco de París Cariberto I, uno de los nietos de Clodoveo I. De este matrimonio habría nacido un hijo, muerto a edad temprana. Se desconoce qué fue de ella tras la muerte de su marido en el 567. (es)

En 566, elle devient la quatrième épouse du roi franc de Paris Caribert Ier, l'un des petits-fils de Clovis. Un fils, mort jeune, naît peut-être de ce mariage. On ignore ce que devient Théodechilde après la mort de son mari en 567. Au XIXe siècle, les amours de Théodechilde et de Caribert inspirèrent un artiste. En 1819, le peintre Jean-Antoine Laurent présenta au Salon de Paris son tableau Chérebert [sic], roi de France, offrant l’anneau royal à Teudegilde, qu’il épousa et à laquelle il donna le titre de reine. La peinture appartenait alors à Élie Decazes, ministre de l'Intérieur. (fr)
- Theudechild (c.540 - c.570) was a Frankish queen consort by marriage to king Charibert I. She is believed to have been the daughter of a cowherd or a shepherd. She married Charibert in 566. She was the second of the king's four wives which was recognized as legitimate by the church. The marriage has been the inspiration of artists. Together, they had one son who died in infancy. She was not Charibert's most powerful partner but she was able to maintain his favour and accumulate wealth for herself. After Charibert's death, she aimed to marry King Guntram. Initially, Guntram was welcoming and led Theudechild to believe that she would be able to have a respected position in his kingdom. She arrived to his court with all her luxurious possessions. However, Guntram seized Theudechild's wealth for himself and sent her to a nunnery. While at the nunnery, she attempted to escape to Spain with a travelling Visigoth but was caught by the abbess. According to Gregory of Tours: "The abbess, who had caught her red-handed, had her beaten mercilessly and locked her up in her cell. There she remained until her dying day, suffering awful anguish”.
